mmkay. hopefully one will come out for xbox 360 or ps4, but I don't think Nintendo will ever allow that ;-;
There are some pretty similar games out there, like Toukiden (the demo at least) or Soul Sacrifice, though the amount of similarity could vary depending on who you ask.

Jhen Mhoran, how do?
I mean, I just can't do enough damage to kill him before he kills the dragon ship. I manage to use all the cannon and ballista ammo on both parts of the fight, while beating down on him pretty hardcore when I could on the first, and he just doesn't die.
Any tips? The set-up I was using was the Jaggi S armor, and an Inceadeus Switch Axe.
Should I go for a heavy bowgun and just pelt him with that instead of using a melee weapon?
Jhen Mohran is always a struggle for everyone the first few times. But after you learn what to do, it's pretty easy. Here's a quick dumb walkthrough written from memory.
- You'll start out in the hold of a dragonship. Okay, cool, a boat. Grab all the ballista ammo you can carry, the Anti-Dragon Bomb, the Ballista Binder, the EZ Barrel Bomb Ls, and anything else you want. Go ahead and climb up whenever you're done.
- You'll immediately flinch as soon as you load the area, because a monster just spotted you. No big deal. Keep an eye to the right side of the ship, and you'll see him appear. You can shoot him with the ballista if you want. Aim for the tusks or arms. Beware of rocks he throws at you.
- When he tries to slam, either ring the Hunting Gong (that's behind where you started, in the middle-back of the ship) or shoot him with the Ballista Binder (select it on your item bar and use the ballista like normal). Try not to mess up because they do have cooldowns so you can't just use them whenever.
- Eventually, he'll come close to the boat and a little red arrow will appear over his closest back leg. That means you can jump onto him. Run up to the cracked areas in his spine and hit them until they break because they take lots and lots of damage. If you really wanted, you could mine some parts and ores off his back, but that's a waste of time you could be using to cut him up. After some time, he'll throw you off. Do not be alarmed.
- Climb back onto the ship. You'll get into the hold again, where you can grab the rest of the ballista ammo. Go on back up, and by this time, he should be backing into the sand and preparing for a Free Willy jump over the ship. It's quite impressive.
- He'll sink into the sand, maybe throw some rocks at you again, and then try and slide up and gore the ship. Use the gong or binder to stop him from hurting you. This time, the arrows will appear over his tusks. Carefully jump on (it's sometimes difficult) and drop all the bombs you can onto one tusk to try and break it. It might not completely break, but it'll save you some shots in the second part. Continue breaking spine cracks if they're not broken already. If they are, just climb in one of them and go nuts. It's not as good damage as the cracks were before breaking, but it's a convenient place to stand. He'll throw you off again.
- At this point, he should be retreating back into the sand. When he surfaces again, it'll be far ahead of the ship, where he'l shoot some rocks. After that, he'll start jumping toward the boat. During this next part, timing is very important. He'll jump once, then twice, and then try and eat your ship. To prevent this, press the Dragonator (!!) button at the top of the stairs when he jumps the second time. It takes a bit to wind up, but if you do it right, he'll be about to attack you and then receive a giant spinning spear to the stomach, which is somewhat discouraging.
- If "the final showdown" isn't entered by this point, he'll probably go back to the right side of the boat. Shoot him more. Use all the ballista and cannon ammo you want during this first phase, because when you reach the second part it'll all refill.
- When you see the message "Now entering the final showdown." or similar, try and gather as much ballista ammo as you can before they kick you out. Or you could jump off the boat for no reason. Do whatever you want until you fade out.
- When you come to yourself again, the boat will have crashed in front of Loc Lac City (RIP), the place you're defending in the lore. Jhen will be far off in the distance; in fact, he'll be behind an invisible wall until he crawls forward more. Sharpen your weapons, drink rations, and prepare to smack some feet a lot.
- Run out to where he is and hit each foot until it breaks. He may throw rocks at you, step on you, or try to sweep you with his fangs. Use your EZ Barrel Bombs (and your own bombs if you brought any) at this point to try and break his arms to slow him down and get some extra rewards.
- When he gets in range of your ship, you have to start playing more with the ship in mind. He can do a few attacks: a roar (not dangerous to ship), an inflating body slam where he puffs out his chest and tries to squish you (very dangerous to ship), shoot rocks (a little dangerous to ship), and a tusk sweep (maybe dangerous to ship? don't think so). The two most dangerous are the sweep and the slam. When he sweeps, he'll raise his head to your left and sweep to the right, hurting you. When he raises his chest and doesn't roar, and it starts to get all puffed up, that's the slam. Naturally, you want these attacks to not hit you, so use the gong and binder and dragonator. If you use the gong when he's going to slam, it'll make him fall to the left and leave his soft, soft mouth wide open for you to assault for massive damage.
- During this time, try to break his tusks (if not already broken) using the cannon and ballistae.
- It's very hard to tell when he's going to die. It'll happen when it happens. Or maybe you'll time out, but if you do enough damage he'll be repelled and it'll count as a success.
The bottom line is: do not let him hit the ship. Use the ballista binder and gong as you need to. In the second stage, the dragonator deals very very good damage and also interrupts his attacks, but has a 10 minute cooldown. Use it as much as you can.
As for your equipment, your armor is okay, but Inceadeus isn't the strongest it can be. Remember that you don't actually have to beat Jhen Mohran to advance, so you can keep working through village quests and eventually get better stuff. In this case, you could upgrade Inceadeus to Great Inceadeus if you basically beat the rest of the village quests to get stronger weapons from stronger monsters, or you could use different weapons. Jhen's weaknesses are ice and dragon in equal amounts, though having a dragon weapon in only High rank is not likely.
