Was under the impression I had to spend points to get rituals and stuff, but oh-kay. I suppose opportunities are considered exceptions.

You can spend points OR do the leg work in the forum turn. Both ways work.

Most of the things that a character can gain by spending points during Reflection, can also be gained during the forum turn. As a general guideline things that can be purchased for a growth point require four hours of work and a DC 7 check. As a general guideline things that can be purchased for a feature point require at least six hours of work, a specific tutor or spellbook, and a forum turn check with a DC of at least 9.

Any spell, ritual, maneuver, or feature listed on this wiki is common enough in universe that it can be specifically researched and learnt during the forum turn assuming the character has access to a decent magical library (or an internet connection for mundane maneuvers and rituals).

Progression made during the forum turn does not result in leveling up.

I should be a bit more clear that research (Earning an opportunity learn something specific of the players choice) isn't the same as acquiring a new Feat, Spell, Ritual, Skill, ect, which in many cases will be randomish if the character hasn't researched anything specific or dosn't have an otherwise good excuse.

A note of interest to Dwarmin, I have changed the merchant feature a bit to make it easier to use. The change should work mostly to your benefit, so I'm not going to give you growth/feature points like I did to Ragnarok when I messed with his stuff.

Lol. I might think about changing that for you then. I just assumed that would be the kind of skill your character would grab.

My only good education skills are Religion (because he's a priest) and Science (for because he's an astronomer-priest). I probably should have picked Planes as well, but I figured two education skills was plenty.

I'll change it to science for properly mixing the formula and whatnot. You'll have enough of an adventure on your hands trying to get all the stuff for the ritual anyway.

Do be warned though. Your character may be better off having some Planes Education down the road.

I have Piety: 3 in all three of my Patrons, which is the most you can start with. But advancing Piety one more time in each gets me a Boon, which is bound to be awesome.
