no need to alter the save files, just change the population_cap setting in d_init

i usually bump my populationcap from 30 to 60 when i have a few trained axedorfs, and again bump to 150 when i have 2 full squads.

lazynewbpack can do this on the fly, even while you are playing.

Don't you have to save and reload for it to take effect though?

Plus there's the part bout having to escort a liaison off the map successfully after meeting with him in order for the popcap to actually be updated and respected, and even then it's finnicky. But no, you don't need to regen a world, or anything, it's in the d_init.txt file in your df
folder.

Lazy Newb Pack is probably making use of a DFHack script in order to modify the init setting in memory, thus it doesn't require a restart.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
