Hardcore Farmville: Farming IRL

More Hardcore Farmville: Farming IRL in the "Third World"
Actual Hardcore Farmville

Heh, that's what I was thinking of when I made that post, then I was like "Nah, not hardcore enough"

I got tired of that game after the sixth consecutive time I saved for several years to get a well only to have it collapse immediately in a rainstorm. Seriously, you'd expect a person to learn how to build a proper well after a while. And if children died as often as they do in the game, then there would be no population growth in the third world.

The infant mortality rate in large swathes of Africa is somewhere around 40%, and yet the population is skyrocketing.

That's because contraception is too expensive, which means that statistically every few... goes will make a baby with nothing to stop it. And with a nine, ten, or eleven month period or so in between, that means that one woman can feasibly bear a good 15 kids during her lifetime, so even if 40% of them die, there'll be nine little guys left.

Its mostly to deal with the death rates. And the fact that farming is still done by hand instead of excessively wasteful tanks of tractors.

It was pretty easy for me. Mostly because I did mostly Corn. Then got lots of tractors and stuff, then upgraded all the different area upgrades.

You i even won it on my first go.
To win you have to buy all the upgrades availble.
By the end i had a maximum number of elephants and stopped farming altogether (only to have all of my elephants and farming equipement stolen by a angry mob... that didn't stop me in the slightest because i had thousands of $ stashed away).

There are events that screw you over but they're not all that common and you can get by by planting cotton/peanuts most of the game.

Apparently this is possible. I just beat it in 11 turns.
