If we manage to build a self-sustaining fort, we could do that and have a continuing above ground defense force composed entirely of demons. We could chop trees in the caverns, run on farms, and booze production. Then we can sit back and watch vile forces of darkness and pissed off elves storm the gates only to be eaten by an endless horde of demons.

I'm half of a mind to make a mod that includes Armok him/her/itself. Night on unkillable - I'm talking taking on the entire HFS solo and winning power levels. Wouldn't turn up in fortress mode though. His (for the sake of brevity I'll refer to Armok as an it, but it could be a he/she) attacks would give a syndrome on contact that vaporises any creature into red mist and yes, this is possible. Probably. What would appear would be the 'Children of Armok' - able to take con a couple megabeasts at a time and win, but definitely kill able. Yes, I know what obscene levels of power we are dealing with here (no clue, help me please) And let's not forget Armok's chosen- they will siege you. And it will hurt. Actually, screw this. I'm making a mod. YEAH BABY YEAH! Anyone else got ideas they want to add?

Apart from that, use Phoebus' tileset (I think that what is it called).
I still prefer ASCII than any tileset, doh

This. Still learning the game and Phoebus eases me into the game before the graphics. My fort is doing quite well.

Edit: That said, that's still not going to stop me from adding Armok to the game.
