:"Eeeyeek! We did get here rather late..."
Nathara quickly took out her fire tome and flipped her hood up, which appeared to have runes written on the hood in glowing script- as Nathara flipped to the proper page in her tome, she glanced occasionally up at the runes.

"Before we just rush in and attack, may I make a suggestion, as they're currently not aware of us? From what I can see of the enemy's numbers, they have a heavily fortified left field and a modest right field presence, from our current perspective, the left primarily of axe-users, and the right primarily of sword-users.

Because of this, I'd suggest a crew something like this:

Adelaide hangs back, somewhere on the border of both sides so as to be able to reach either party should they need it.

The rest of us split into two teams:

TEAM HACKANDSLASH will consist of Ralai and Elian, as the high weight of axes on that side will help them, and at worst they're on even standing.

TEAM PENETRATION will consist mainly of Me and Nathara, and would head East and then North, attacking from the enemies' weak flank where the open space and my Lance's benefit against the mass of Thieves will prove effective.

As either team begins to take damage, Adelaide should move up in the center to provide healing where needed, but avoid drawing attention to herself if possible, as she's a valuable asset and it would be... unfortunate if she were to be hurt.

Should either team finish up before the others, they provide support and surgical strikes for the other ones as able."

"I have no objections. I'll be here to back you up with inspiration, but if it looks like you get in over your head - or the bandits are causing too much damage to the place - I'll pitch in with my magic. This is YOUR initiation mission, after all."

Foster smiled reassuringly.

ALLIED PHASE

"Ralai, it's your turn. Show me your fighting spirit!"

Foster plays his War Cheer. Ralai and Adelaide can now post an additional action and get +2 STR/MAG for the remainder of the turn!

Ralai darted forward to attack the bandit. He went in low and fast, slashing the bandit across the stomach. He drew blood but the cut wasn't deep enough to incapacitate the axeman, who retaliated by smashing the haft of the axe into the side of the swordsman's head.

"Okay boss!" Adelaide said, shuffling forward.

Action: Move to K6 and heal Ralai
Then move back to my original position at N7 if I still have that bonus turn I didn't use.

The Mallercian male staggered a bit as he tried to balance himself. He seemed... Drunk. Horribly, horribly drunk.

"Nargh..." The man groaned as he looked ahead, seeing a troop of soldiers attacking the group he was with. "Pherty ghrashers!" The man shouted in alarm and pointed at their direction. ...Well, more at the burning house, but it was the right cardinal direction at least. "Tahh 'erms, theeeir gunna take... Thake our orangesh, thooooshe... thooshe... Bashterdsh... We'll reeepel them baack like tahh Chomboinians did ta thee Khernicshes... Pertech tha treees!" The man in the white robes staggered off E9/9E.

Adelaide moved to Ralai's side and lightly bonked him on the head with her healing staff. Due to the magic involved it didn't hurt any more than getting hit in the head with a feather would.

ENEMY PHASE

Rhett drunkenly staggered into a tree and held onto it for balance. Clair moved closer to the intruders.

Quote from: Bandit A vs Ralai
Hit: 97-12-15=70; 92, miss!

Ralai counters!
Hit: 114+15-13=116; Autohit.
Crit: 12-1=11; 10!
Damage: 10+2+1-3=10x3=30 damage dealt!
Quote from: Bandit B vs Ralai
Hit: 97-12-15=70; 66, hit!
Crit: 8-4=4; 27.
Damage: 10-2-1=7 damage dealt!

Ralai counters!
Hit: 114+15-13=116; Autohit.
Crit: 12-1=11; 40.
Damage: 10+2+1-3=10 damage dealt!

The first bandit axeman moved in with a slow overhead strike. Before he could complete it Ralai had already rolled past him, sword out, and cut his legs out from under him. The swordsman put him down for good with a quick impale, but not quite quick enough to avoid getting an axe in the shoulder from Bandit Fighter B. Ralai turned and finished off the other bandit with a heavy slash to the neck.

The thieves heard the dying screams of their compatriots and mobilized. Thief A rushed down to attack Elian.

Quote from: Thief A vs Elian
Hit: 113-9=104; Autohit.
Crit: 13-2=11; 16.
Damage: 10-3=7 damage dealt.

Elian counters!
Hit: 111-14=97; 75.
Crit: 13-2=11; 99.
Damage: 8-3=5 damage dealt.

The two thieves crossed swords, then lashed out with physical attacks while the blades were locked. Elian kicked the enemy thief in the stomach; the other punched him in the eye hard enough that he would be sporting a shiner tomorrow. While they were fighting, Thief B moved to avenge his axewielding comrades.

Quote from: Thief B vs Ralai
Hit: 113-12=101; Autohit.
Crit: 13-2=11; 19.
Damage: 10-2=8 damage dealt.

Ralai counters!
Hit: 114-14=100; Autohit.
Crit: 12-2=10; 83.
Damage: 10-3=7 damage dealt.

The thief went in with a quick slash that caught Ralai off-guard and drew blood, but the swordsman didn't hesitate and returned a thrust of his own that got the thief in the shoulder.

The rest of the thieves moved about. Or didn't, in Thief D's case. He seemed happy enough to continue picking oranges for the moment.

Spoiler: HP (click to show/hide)

Notes about this turn: I think I get what Haspen says about crits. They tend to make encounters much easier than you intend for them to be. @_@

Adelaide scowled as the doofy warrior woman was re-injured just as she was done healing her!

"Uh, could you try to get hit a little less? Like, seriously!" Adelaide complained behind Ralai's back.

Action: Bonk heal Ralai once more!
