For anyone confused, I'm using the term "Diocese" to refer to the region that pays its tithes to a given Temple. This is probably not a perfectly accurate use of the term, but it's the one I'm using. I'm also assuming that all the money payed to Highreach either goes to maintaining the temple itself, or directly into Hulen's pockets. Mostly to the temple, I imagine.

Why?
Aside from the Star Wars reference, of course. I see no reason to threaten him at all.

How did I do that? By explaining it?
The joke seemed pretty well finished by the time I got there.

Don't explain the joke, GWG. Never explain the joke.

In other news the doctor seems to have vanished. Is he still around, or shall I just have my healing rolled?

It was supposed to be a joke?
*checks*
Oh, I already acknowledged that it was.

My point being,
The joke seemed pretty well finished by the time I got there.

Nevermind, GWG. I would indeed appreciate a roll, Ardas.

Atsam approaches the King mid-conversation, bowing "Forgive me the interruption, Your Majesty, but I felt it would save you precious time. Steward Gamel, the dioceses you speak of do not exist, the bishopries collect tithes from the feudal demesnes they are part of and their holdings. That should be a given, unless you'd like to imply a diocese wealthier and larger than the royal demesne could exist within the very same demesne; a less than feasible scenario, to say the least".

I'd actually like some clarification on this. Are the Temples separate regions from the Earldoms and the Royal Demense, or do lordly and religious titles overlap, like in real life?

Overlap.  There's a small diocese attached to each, but the income is negligible by comparison to the tithing.

Maps updated, then. All Papacy worshipers above the red line tithe to Asterbury, everyone south tithes to Viridon. Tithes to the Spirits go to Highreach if you're in Meridia.

Does that seem about right?

I would strongly advise the hunter to help out Hulen, since catching live game is not an easy task, especially with wolves involved.
