Chapter X: Revived!

Run.
A booming, seemingly coordinated cry of dozens of undead reverberate around the perimeter of the group. They snatch up their belongings, some assisting Kyle to his feet. Clair snatches the blade from the ground. In a matter of seconds, all the living people begin traversing through the forest at a brisk pace. The shadows and sounds of the dead surrounded them, but the humans were able to speed past them.
Eventually, the group burst from the forest onto a paved road, leaving the trees and their pursuers behind them, for now at least. Beyond them the road stretched to the horizon. On the opposite side of the street was a dirt trail, and it led all the way up to a large multi-story house.
During this lull in the action, Clair observes her blade to see what it is exactly. It turns out to be a home-made machete, with a wooden handle and a clean metal blade over a foot long.
Omeen shrugs, "Looks like we all made it out anyways. Y'all want to check out the house, or just keep moving?"
