25th of June, 1940Guten Tag, Wissenschaftler und Soldaten! Today our vile enemy France has officially surrendered, and the whole German people celebrate! Yet we cannot relax our vigilance, for there are those who wish to see us conquered and defeated! Therefore our glorious Führer asks for our smartest and bravest to come together, to develop Wunderwaffe and ensure the supremacy of the Third Reich for a thousand years!
What is Jawohl?Jawohl is a game about developing Wunderwaffe, creating Übermensch and delving into things man is not meant to know for the glory of Nazi Germany. Think of something out of a Wolfenstien game, but with more pseudoscience and craziness. Obviously historical and scientific accuracy will be largely ignored. The players will be scientists and high-ranking Nazis, tasked with inventing and developing a whole host of items for the German Reich, as well as expanding and developing their secret base and acquiring enough loot to set them up for life. But obviously the Allies can't let the players mess with nature in peace, and the players will have to fend off spies, commando teams, armies and more.
How will Jawohl play?Jawohl will be largely freeform in gameplay, with actions being decided by a D20, plus any bonuses or negatives, of course. Combat is only a little bit more involved, using percentages to figure out whether you've hit your target or not. I'll explain more in-detail when it comes up.
How to sign up?Simply fill out the sign-up sheet and wait. I'll take six players to start with, first come, first serve. The rest will be put into the waitlist to be rotated into the game whenever a causality occurs. Given the dangerous experiments that will be performed, I expect the death-rate to be pretty high.
Name: The name of your character. Obviously.
Sex: Yes please is not an acceptable answer. Pick Male or Female (or maybe something else if your background would allow it).
Age: How many rotations around the Sun the Earth has made since they were born.
Description: What your character looks like. At the very least some basic details would be appreciated.
Position: Are you a Scientist or Soldier? Scientists exist to experiment, while Soldiers get experimented on maintain, expand and protect the secret base where everyone lives and work. Soldiers also get to carry around more weapons and armour during day-to-day operations, making them more prepared when the base is attacked or an experiment escapes. Scientists can pick up guns/armour to protect themselves, but that takes time, which they may not have if a T. Rex is breathing down their neck...
Major Benefit: What your character is really good at. If you're a Scientist this must be a field of science/pseudoscience (Physics, Biology, Anti-Gravity etc.). Soldiers get to choose their specialty with a certain class of weaponry (Melee, Handguns, Grenades, SMGs, Shotguns, Rifles, Machineguns, Explosives, and Flamethrowers). You could choose something not on any of those lists, but I'll have to double-check it to make sure it'd work. Engineering or manufacturing could be useful to have.
Minor Benefit: What your character is good at or any advantages they might have. It can be pretty much anything, so Scientists can wield shotguns and Soldiers can be well-versed in Physics. Obviously Minor Benefits will not be as powerful as Major Benefits, but every little bit helps. I'd suggest that at least one person takes Charisma/Communicating as their Minor Benefit, to curry favour with the high command and to cover your asses when things go bottom up (as they certainly will).
Impairment What your character is bad at, or something that could negatively affect them (Drinking problem, many enemies, in debt etc). While your penalty can be pretty much anything, if it's oddly specific I'll either reject it out of hand or try to include it as much as possible. You have been warned.
You can also include in the Sign-up Sheet anything else you want to say about your character, such as their background or drinking preferences. Feel free to be creative.
