(I believe Oscar was thinking that, Blade. :P)

"Right. We have to figure out which one we need to go for: Ansel or his son. We also need to know where they both are and what forces they have with them; that could help make the decision."

Enoch didn't go with the chunk of the guys who followed the ladies to their rooms, instead moving into their designated commons area and claiming a bed by sitting on it cross-legged. The strange mage took a deep breath and rested, sitting still in his meditative stance.

After a short while he started pulling objects from his robes: two books and a bronze carving knife. He laid them out before him on the bed, adjusted his hood to insure it remained up, then returned to his meditative trance in a more relaxed and comfortable stance.

"But, will killing Ansel's son somehow stop or even bother him? I don't think that after killing the heir, Ansel will sudden break down in tears, toss away the Weapons and beg for forgiveness. Also, it's Ansel, not his son, who wields who knows how many divine weapons now, not to mention, governs all of Exsten and its armies. His son is, how they say it, a small fish now."

Diana turned to Oscar.

"I don't think it will cause him to say 'sorry for the war', Oscar. I'm not that naive. What I want is to hurt Ansel and enrage him. I want him mad and not thinking straight, and I want him to know what it's like to lose people you care dearly for. That's why I think we should go after the prince."

Oscar nodded in response but didn't say anything else. He would follow the Princess no matter her decision.

Lucas was wandering around since after he was told where his designated room was. Half exploring, half thinking to himself about various issues. Enoch's strange case, his trust issues with Felicia, and the last mention of Osngaria.

Osngaria is all but gone... The royal line has disappeared... But the royal line wasn't all that powerful in Osngaria. As long as you had books, knowledge, you could make a living. Owners of libraries of magic tomes have the power to restrict access to their knowledge database, and since the royal line didn't have a Divine Weapon... Something clicked in his mind as he thought that. Hmm... Why did Ansel had to go to war with Osngaria? They don't hold a Divine Weapon, maybe there are more secrets in my home country than I knew. I can't forget this.

Lucas walked back to the common room, where he found Enoch alone. Convenient, he thought.

Enoch. Are you meditating right now?

Enoch didn't rouse at first, but after a moment there was a slight shift, then he rolled a shoulder and resumed a more natural sitting position on the bed, his legs now hanging off the side instead of cross-legged.

"I was, but such can pause. What is the cause?" The man asked, readjusting his hood. He doesn't seem used to people coming to talk to him, considering his mild surprise at being interrupted.

Well, I wanted to ask you about that light magic of yours, but I'm starting to feel exhausted, so I will cut straight to the point. I think you could make better use of this than me.

Lucas took the Guiding Ring he bought and tossed it to Enoch.

Back there on the ship, I saw the incredible flash of light you produced. So I feel like you're more ready than me to use it, as I still have a long way.

"I'm not sure what good will come of pissing off the guy swinging around Allondight. Come to think of it, taking his son hostage might be worthwhile. Of course, that assumes he cares enough about his own flesh and blood to surrender if it comes to that. Seems kind of doubtful to me, but I don't know the man."

"We'll need a plan for once we've taken care of the prince, too. Some way to take advantage of the situation... assuming Ansel does what I hope and blindly rushes us."

"Aside from us all piling on him at once and hoping he somehow manages to snap Allondight's blade off in one of our corpses, I don't think there's a reason to want Ansel rushing us. If we could somehow separate him from the weapon, it'd be one thing, but we need a plan that doesn't culminate in actually confronting him in battle otherwise."

A servant brought in some trays of food. It was nothing extravagant, but it was plentiful.

"I was thinking something more simple. Thank you."

The second was addressed to the servant, and she took a sandwich.

"My hope was that he would want to kill us so bad he would walk into a trap. Like, say, a valley that we can roll boulders down or some such. Not that specifically, but... something of that nature."

Wilfort sighed. "I wish we had some kind of master tactician. Hoping for a valley that we could roll boulders into isn't a viable plan." Wilfort waved a hand. "Maybe we'll be able to come up with something after we get some food and rest. Or when we're closer and have the lay of the land."

"Unfortunately, we don't have anyone like that. But agreed. Let's take the rest of the day off and worry about what we're going to do after we've slept on it."

The following morning, Neeya knocked on the door of the women's sleeping quarters.

"Excuse me, princess? My uncle has made a decision, and asks that you gather your men in his audience chambers."
