The group returned to the town gates, where Biggs was waiting with another four horses.

"Oh, you've returned. I thought you would be inside longer."

"Oh, horses. Maybe I should start training fighting from horseback. Never did that before." His eyes glanced at Biggs and Wedge.

"Pity there's no skilled, long-time riders who can teach me."

"There's no need for that, Otiros. If he wants to part ways with us once we reach our destination that's one thing, but I don't want any of us left behind until then."

Her rebuke was gentle but stern, and - in a way - aimed at Oscar as well.

"You've done well, Biggs. Shall we be on our way?"

Diana mounted Eurydice and looked at Enoch. She had been thinking for awhile and she had something she wanted to say to him.

"It is fortunate / that you were not cursed to speak / only in haiku."

Obviously pleased with herself, Diana petted Eurydice's mane.

Enoch seemed amused. "Yes indeed, it would be quite hard to lead a conversation if what I say were to be the size of a seed. People might take even less heed, heh." The mage tried to mount the horse, and after a try or two managed to succeed. It's rather obvious he hasn't really rode much, or possibly at all.

"Jests aside, that must be an awful curse to live with."

She started to move Eurydice over so she could help him up, but he had already gotten in the saddle.

"...Is it difficult to think of how to phrase what you want to say, or does the curse sort of make you rhyme?"

He doesn't seem as happy as before to actually be talking about the rhyming business. "I've lived with it long, I've learned to play its song. At first it was the worst, but I've learned and yearned enough to avoid being burned by it. Be nice if it made itself suffice, more to entice my speech, but instead it sometimes puts my mind in a vice."

"I see. It must cause a lot of trouble for you; I won't bother you further about it."

Diana had been idly petting Eurydice as she talked. She seemed to realize this and stopped.

"Fair is fair. Is there anything you would like to ask me?"

Eurydice made a horse noise when Diana ceased her unconscious stroking.

"Pity there's no skilled, long-time riders who can teach me."

"Your subtletly could use some work, lad. I can't give you proper training, not on the road, and not being a man of the bow. But I can teach you a few things."

"That said-" Biggs raised his voice. "Alright, for those who don't know; your horse should follow my lead, but if it starts to wander off, give the reins a gentle tug in the direction you want to go. Don't yank, they won't appreciate it. And more importantly, stand in the saddle more than you sit, unless you feel like being sore and chafed. Understood? Good, let's go!"

Oscar mounted his horse without much problem. He needed some time to get accustomed to the... height. He listened to the advice adn grabbed the reins of his brown mount.

"I had more than enough training in subtlety and sweet talk. I just don't see a need to be subtle with army."

Jago took somewhat of a while to get mounted, and even when he had mounted, he certainly has trouble riding it. Eventually, though...
:"Oh! Oh! I got it. Alright!"

The mage contemplated on a question for a while, it wasn't often someone offered him the chance to question them about a great many things. Hm...

"How's your hair that hue of blue?" The mage is obviously not one for gravity-educing questions, or is trying to attempt some form of levity perhaps.

"My family's hair color has always been like this, since Durhiel himself!"

"I've heard some of the maids say it was to set the bloodline apart from normal folk. I don't know how much truth is in that."
