Diana went back outside and mounted her horse, Eurydice, taking the opportunity to pet her behind the ears while waiting for the rest to come out and join her.

Jago, for one, didn't have a horse. He did have a writing pad though, with which he was writing things down while taking occasional glances at the others, especially when they argued. He had a sort of roguish grin on his face. It might seem suspicious, in fact, but if one looked over his shoulder, they could see what he was writing:

Who to play jokes on:
Definitely not the princess. She's only been nice to me, plus I don't take up getting repeatedly skewered by the guards as a hobby.
Not the other blue haired woman either, Ceil healed me.
I don't know how the weird rhyme-y guy Enoch...? would react, he's... kinda weird.
The two big knights I don't want to risk even playing jokes on, because they are big and they are knights.
The girl guard and the one I can't see the face of I dunno anything about.
The Oscar guy sounds like he might be pretty fun to play a trick on...
But nothing compared to that red armor guy! He sounds like he'd be great. It'd be a great reaction! I'd have to run real fast though.

The group quickly left the tavern behind, Biggs and Wedge riding in front, ever vigilant. Before the inn was even out of sight, the sound of a river ahead could be heard by the group. Soon, the group could see its waters.

"This river marks the border between the Kingdom of Durhiel and the Empire of Ulfijan. Once we cross... We should be safe. That said, we should keep a low profile from here on out. Do not speak of Princess Diana's true identity."

"Wedge is right. The possibility of mercenaries or worse attempting to kidnap and ransom Diana is present until we reach Castle Ulfijan."

"That said, your highness, I suggest we stop at a border town, and purchase horses for our new companions."

"Hmph. Well, it would keep them from slowing us..."

Freya look over said shoulder

:"I see, uhuh, okay, smart, that can be solved, good idea, your funeral."

The princess smiled to herself. 'That can be solved,' hmm?

"Freya, are you flirting with that boy?"

Diana asked teasingly.

Freya splutter

:"W-what!? I-I?! *Cough* I-I mean you're taking it out of context."

"It's cute."

Diana giggled, covering her mouth.

"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone."

She had been speaking quietly since her initial question, so as not to alert Jago - or anyone else - of what the two girls were talking about.

Jago jumped approximately three feet forward out of pure reflex when Freya looked over his shoulder; shutting the pad and then trying (and probably failing) to walk nonchalantly and innocently back to where he had been standing.

"I hope these guys aren't being hunted or something.."

[Xanmyral]

"Who, us? Oh, don't give such a fuss, we can handle any cuss that comes to put us in a muss. I can attest that no one is running after me with a clenched fist."

[Haspen]

"I don't think anyone would want to hunt me down. I've left only satisfied... employers."

[Powder Miner]

:"I can't possibly see why I'd be hunted, I think it's pretty safe to say I'm not!"

The hooded mage chipped in after a while. "Though... Isn't that what they want, a prey who does not go low, does not shunt along to avoid the brunt of the hunt? Prey who do not know of an incoming fray on their way? Truly, to be hunted is to show fast that you are the last to know. It is a fun game, no one knows who is to be blamed and who was to be framed, the roles taking their tolls as they switch showing that all is relative by the witch that is time..." The hooded man rambled.

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Good.. we already lost too much time... and I doubt any of us would be willing to get into another fight so soon. Also doesn't this guy come with a translator? Seriously I can't understand a single word this kid is saying!"
