"...Yes. I suppose a can allow that. Eren will escort you to the dungeons later. But for now, you should have something to eat." Ansel took the cover off the dish close to him, revealing a bowl of thick, but rather plain stew.

Diana nodded. As much as everything about the situation was bad, she still had to eat and keep her strength up. Refusing to eat would just make her weak from hunger when it came time to escape... however she figured out how to do it.

"Okay, let's load up the cart, and bring it in tomorrow morning. It's getting late. Maybe if we bring it in really early, most of them will be asleep?"

~~~
Once dinner was finished, Ansel stood, and walked toward the doors past Diana.
"Eren, please escort Diana back to her room." He said without another backward glance as he left the room.
"Yes, your majesty."
~~~

The prisoners were left to their own devices, the guard sitting in the next room.

"Sounds fine to me." Brann shrugged and started to follow the boy to load up the cart.

Diana stood.

"Very well. General Eren?"

She turned to the side and gestured for him to lead the way.

Eren nodded to Diana, and turned to walk out of the room, allowing her to follow him. "Is there anything you need? Something to make yourself more comfortable tonight?" He asked as they walked back to Diana's room.

"...No. There's nothing you can do."

Diana's voice was distant and tinged with sadness as she followed him. After the Exstenian occupation, even the very air of the castle had changed; it all felt very hushed, muted. A shadow of the spirit it once had. She wondered how Biggs, Wedge, Tyrn, Freya, and Otiros were handling being back here when everything was so strange.

Ceil continued to sit on the edge of the cell, eerily silent, her eyes scanning the room outside the cell for minutes.

Two... Three sweeps of her surroundings later, she looked up to Enoch.

Darkness falls, and the prisoners are left to rot in their cells. Ursa and Brann finish filling the cart, and await dawn to initiate their daring rescue.

The next morning, Philip, Ursa and Brann begin to put their plan into action. As the young boy maneuvered the cart toward the road, a large group of soldiers, mostly on foot, began pouring from the castle gate.

~~~
The prisoners in the cells can only guess as to what is going on, while Diana has a view of the assembled company leaving through her window.
Laying as still as he possibly could in the cart, Brann could just hear the sound of marching feet. Cursing mentally, he slowly placed a hand on Ursa, and then moved it to his lips. While he thought that the man wouldn't make any noise, it was better safe than sorry with this guy. He couldn't help but think that if he didn't say anything, the man might just jump out and start fighting the enemies, regardless of the likelihood of survival.
Ursa was simply bemused by the man's behavior. To him, this was basically hunting; you didn't thrash about making a lot of noise, you crept up until you were close enough to sink your hatchet blade into the prey's vital areas.
Except in this case, if he understood Boy's plan correctly, they wanted to remain hidden for as long as possible. Well, that was fine. There seemed to be a lot of Bandits out there anyway.
The cart came to a stop for a long while, until the sounds of marching grew faraway. Then, it began moving again. It stopped again not long after, and the two passengers could hear muffled voices.
"What's this then? Your mother finally wise up and decide to pay tribute to her new liege?"
"I guess. She just told me to load up the cart and take it to the castle."
"And a good thing too. You know the way to the larder, don't ya boy? Take it all the way there."
"Yessir."
The cart began moving again- They were inside.
With a quiet sigh of relief, Brann settled down to wait for the all clear signal from the boy.
Diana, having changed back into her previous clothes this morning, looked out the window to see what was going on.
...Has fortune really smiled on me so quickly? If so many soldiers are leaving, then this could be my chance! But how do I rescue the others...? I have to get to them first.
She opened the door and looked for General Eren (if he wasn't part of the group she saw leave earlier >.>) or an Exstenian soldier. Hopefully there would be a dumb one of the latter variety outside, and hopefully he would be carrying a sword as his weapon. She would have to find some way to steal it if she got that lucky...
"I would like to visit the dungeons. I understand I'm to have an escort wherever I go, so you may follow me if you'd like,"
she said in her most imperious tone, hoping to cut off any argument to the contrary before it started.
