"Not a particular question, as such. I just want to talk. We'll be seeing a lot of each other in the future, and I believe now is a good a time as any to break the ice." Eren and Diana walked down a hallway, and up a flight of stairs. Diana's memory of the castle jarred in several places as she saw chips and cracks in the stonework that had not been there when she'd left. She soon realized she was being led to her room- Though not by the fastest path.

"I understand that you may hate us." He said quietly, his face turned away from her. "But the King had no other choice. He will rule the world now, and this is a time of turmoil for the people you were once meant to rule. I ask that you conduct yourself with the grace fit for a lady of your station. It will ease the pain of the peasantry."

"You say that he's going to rule the world as if it justifies what he's already done to my people. To my family."

"Yes. I do dislike you, and I don't believe your king is doing this to save anything - only for his own selfish ends."

"And how dare you hold the walfare of the people of Durhiel over me! They're just pawns to you. You don't care about them the way my father did, the way I do."

She glowered silently for a moment.

"So why are we heading to my room? And what happened to King Drahool?"

Brann grinned at the young boy, hoping to make it clear that he had no intention of harming him. "Well, any way you could get us in that wouldn't get us noticed would be wonderful. If not, we'll leave you be. Wouldn't want to get you in trouble after all."

"We are going there because that is where you will be staying. Certainly better than dank, dark cell, I should think. Though I will remind you this is a cage, even if it is gilded. If you wish to walk about the grounds, I shall escort you. But you will not leave this room without me." Eren sighed. "...Your father is dead. As are your brothers. They refused to yield to the King." By this point, the two had reached Diana's room. "Your room has been searched, for which I apologize. We could not run the risk that you might have a weapon concealed within. I'll send in one of the maids soon, to help you get ready for tonight's dinner."

Brann grinned at the young boy, hoping to make it clear that he had no intention of harming him. "Well, any way you could get us in that wouldn't get us noticed would be wonderful. If not, we'll leave you be. Wouldn't want to get you in trouble after all."

"Hey, if you're trying to bust someone out of there, that's good with me!" The kid said excitedly, breaking his reverie. "Those guys killed the old king, the princes too! Anything you do to them would have to be the right thing." Philip stood up, frowning again. "Let's go to my house, maybe mom can think of something..."

Diana closed her eyes, clenched her fists, and did her best to stay calm. That's what she had thought had happened, but it still hurt and angered her to hear it.

"...So why are you bothering with all of this, then? Putting me up here instead of in a cell, allowing me to move about the grounds? Once you've executed me, that's it. The line of Durhiel has ended and you've won. There's no royalty left in the country to stand against Exsten."

Ursa stood up to follow the boy without speaking. Apparently people had been killed here? People the Kid liked or looked up to? That was not good.

"As I know it, there are no plans to execute you, princess. I'm sure you'll be able to acquire better answers over dinner. I'll leave you to get changed. Unless there's anything else?"

Diana blinked.

"I don't understand."

She opened the door and looked around her room.

I don't suppose he would be dumb enough to get close to the window. And... I'm not good enough with a weapon to take his from him. Even if I could get it away I wouldn't be able to do much good with it. I'll just have to wait... Maybe I can figure out a way to get everyone out of prison, at the very least.

"One last thing. The way you phrased that, it sounds like you expect someone else to be at dinner. Who?"

Following after the boy, Brann frowned. "So how bad was the invasion? Were the normal folk drawn into the fighting?"

"Well, it's not like we weren't as ready as we could be. A lot of the men got told to join up, so they did. Most of them are dead now though..." Philip kicked a rock out of his way. "They let all the women and kids go once king Drahool died. The rest of the army surrendered. A lot of men actually got to go home, according to mom. A lot more were executed though. The new King said were being... Ann Next? I dunno what it actually means."

"King Ansel of Exsten, naturally. He has much to discuss with you."

Diana blinked.

"King Exsten?"

I don't know what he wants with me, but if they're going to let me near him where there are sharp implements, then that's their own lookout. I'll... I'll... I'll gouge his eyes out with a fork if I have to!

She knew she didn't have the heart to even attempt that, no matter how much she hated the man, but she felt slightly better for the thoughts of revenge.

"...Very well. I'll see how he explains himself after what he's done to my people and my family. Now if you'll excuse me..."

Diana moved to enter her room and looked at Eren.

I don't know when I'm going to get a chance to free them, but I have to. I owe it to them.

Enoch frowned as he stared at the soldier who went to go put them in the cells, but did little than that beyond being ready to move with the others. He can see about their situation later, once they're in the cells.

Eren whistled loudly, causing a young man to come running up.

"I'll take my leave then. Corporal, make sure the princess stays inside her room." Eren turned back to Diana. "One of the maids will be up shortly, in case you need assistance." And with that, he left.

~~~
"We're a mite short on cells- you're gonna be doubled up, heheh." The jailer motioned for a few of the other guards to join him, and then began separating the ropes from the group two at a time, starting with Biggs and Wedge, who put in a cell together. Oscar and Otiros were next.
At the end row of cells, two pairs of eyes focused on the newcomers.
Rodan and Kale Tanis are in!
Once the others were starting to be put into cells, Jago took a look at the cell he was doomed to be shoved into. He knew he was next: So he flipped out. Jago tugged viciously on his ropes, trying just to get away from the cell, futilely attempting to just get away from its general direction.
"OI!" The sword wearing man snarled and backhanded Jago hard enough to lift him off of his feet. One of the larger guards grabbed the archer beneath his armpits while another cut Jago free from the group. The swordsman also cut Freya free, roughly shoving her toward the open cell door. "You'll go inside quietly if you know what's good for ya!"
