Brann is the first through the ruined gates, slashing at the first monster he sees. His sword sticks in the dead man's ribs for barely a moment, but the creature is able to claw Brann in the short time available. Brann responds by separating the monster into 4 equal sections.

The book in question has several pages missing, particularly in the front, but there's enough magic stored in here to make any sociopath's day. Magic that you can't even fully grasp...

The diminutive mage inspected the odd find, but he only needed to touch it to tell the magic within. Powerful magic.

Enoch was almost giddy, forgetting about the undead. Oh how he wanted to try it! But not here, not yet. He needed a good foe, one who could respond, one who could scream. Not these... Mindless dregs, abominations of nature. There's no joy, no fun in fighting them. He clutched the book to his chest and stashed it in his robes, anxious to get a move on on.

As Otiros leaves the Ballistae, he is set upon by one of the undead. It actually manages to cause Otiros some harm before the soldier rams a couple bolts down the creature's throat.

Inside the ruins, Enoch is set upon by the undead. Enoch, absorbed in his new find, is taken by surprise by one of the undead coming in from the next room, which almost takes a meaty bite out of his shoulder. Enoch lets loose a couple arcane blasts, but misses the second. Before he can recover, a second ghoul latches on to Enoch, spraying his blood all over the surrounding floor. Enoch reacts aggressively, turning the second one to ash. A third corpse attacks Enoch as well. It gets close enough to the diminutive mage that the fae can smell the creature's breath.

And then he blew the damn thing's head off.
