Both Ursa and Brann manage to get ahold of a Divine Weapon each, but they feel incredibly, unreasonably heavy, and contrary to what they know of the weapons, they did not shift to suit their wielders.

"Only half, thankfully. My father is the dragon king who was villified after his murder. And then had his lands carved out like a roast between the people who killed him. And I wouldn't bother with your 'Divine' weapons- I've already reclaimed their power. They're just oversized hunks of metal now." Kunsel turned around, and began calmly moving toward the back wall, where a staff was propped up.

Diana tried to rush him again. And if it didn't work this time, she'd try to go around the wall of magic and get to the staff first.

"So now what? You destroy the whole world, bring that destruction you claimed would happen?"

Kunsel turned and watched Diana bounce off of the magic screen again. "Probably. Specifically I plan to bring my father and half-brother back from whatever hellish domain Osngaria managed to seal them in. I imagine they'll raze the entire continent upon their return. After all, I'd be mad if I'd been betrayed and sealed on another plane." Diana was having no luck finding a gap between the barrier and the wall while Kunsel pontificated. "A last little bit of irony for the human race. It might amuse me." Kunsel regarded the gem in his hand, smiling broadly. "On the other hand... Two of the last remnants of my father's betrayers are here right now. Maybe I should take my true form, and kill you now. What do you think, Diana? Armad?"

"I think you're insane and are going to die messily."

"If you think you can take on us all, feel free. But you will not kill those of the royal blood. Not while I still live. That I swear."

Leaving the bow where it was, Brann moved in front of the princes and Diana, settling into a defensive stance, sword drawn.

This seemed like her best chance to stop him. She shifted her blade into a fighting stance.

"It's only fitting that the daughter of Durhiel destroys the son of the Dragon King. Unless you think you're stronger than fate...? I doubt it. You've only shown guile and trickery. You're not strong enough to win."

Diana's smug tone was hopefully infuriating.

"You'll destroy nothing." Kunsel spat, no longer amused. "You pathetic creatures take such pride in your lineage. But it is all built on a bed of falsehood! My father was no tyrant, and your god does not exist! The so called Divine Weapons were made from draconic magic! Allow me to prove my point with the power of this stone that absorbed their power- I will finally become a true dragon!" Kunsel gripped the gem in both hands, and the room began to shake violently. Even those not inclined to magic could feel the occult power rolling off of the false prophet as two scaly wings erupted from his back.

Jago, naturally sensitive to magic, physically recoiled from the outpouring of power.
:"Gyah, WHOA, what was that?!"

Brann staggered back a step as the wings appeared, but settled back into his stance with a growl.

"You will not end us here. Whatever the power of the Divine Weapons, we will beat you and protect this world."

"You've plunged the world into war through deceit. Your view of history rings as hollow and meaningless as the prophecies you told Ansel."

"I'm going to kill you, Kunsel. For every person that suffered or died because of these wars, every injustice that was committed because of you. Gather all the power you can, because I am the heir of Durhiel, and I will put an end to your line once and for all!"

The light coming from the gem began to fade as Kunsel's wings receded into his back as the halfbreed gasped for air.

"What you think or believe doesn't matter, and neither does your betrayer's legacy! I will return the dragons to this world, and it will burn!" Kunsel grabbed for the staff, and in a flash of light, he was gone.

"Damn him!"

Diana punched the wall.

"Ugh, where could he have gone... Maybe the Forsaken Lands? Anyone else have an idea?"

"That is where the dragons were sealed, wasn't it? Seems a likely place to go if you were trying to free them.  Before we go though, your soldiers need better equipment. I offer access to my armory. You may think of it as the first step in reparations for the damage my country has done to yours."

In Ursa's hands, he feels Gram stir faintly, and slowly shift into a shape suitable for throwing. It would seem the weapons have not given up the very last of their magic... However, Ursa will have to let go of something. His pack is overburdened.

Ursa gets Gram, the dragon axe!

Brann frowned and sheathed his sword again. Pacing, he overheard the comment about weapons, and thought again about that Divine Bow. Returning to it, he stared at it for a few seconds. These weapons had been so powerful and such a symbol for so long. He quietly sighed as he picked up the bow in front of him, planning to give it to Wilfort, at least as a symbol of of his country and a memory of his mother.

As Brann lifts the bow, struggling slightly with the weight of it, he feels it respond and slowly lengthy and change shape, until it becomes the hulking monstrosity that Beltana once brought to bear. Though much of the weapon's former power is gone, it is still clearly incredible...

Brann gets Brahmastra, the dragon bow!
