"My plans depend on your plans. When this is over, do you want peace? If that is the case and I feel I can trust you, then all I'll ask is for you to withdraw any claim or soldiers from our countries, and we can all rebuild."

Diana considered her sword.

"Should you want war or prove yourself untrustworthy..."

She left it at that, waiting to see what the prince would say.

"My country would not survive a war. And even if it could, it's not what I'm interested in. I ask only one favor. If my father can be reasoned with, please, spare him. I will depose him, and rule Exsten, but if my father can be left alive..." Armad extended a hand. "The blood can't keep spilling. God knows no one has much left."

Diana closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them, they were determined.

"Not even a few days ago I would have refused. And in the interest of honesty, I still want to kill him. His deeds are unforgivable. But I, too, grow weary of all this. Fighting, wondering what each person I kill meant to others, worrying who I might lose along the way. My childhood dream of wanting to be a warrior seems foolish, now. But I think Father would be proud of who I've become. And I want to honor his memory, so I accept. I will kill Ansel if I must, but I will show mercy if possible."

Brann breathed a sigh of relief. This was better than what he had ever hoped for. It was good to see the change in Diana. He smiled, feeling better about the future of this world, if only they could get through these last few challenges.

Armad smiled. "I'm glad to hear it. We should go immediately." Armad turned to the cowering trio, as well as his personal guard that were exiting the room they'd been in until just now. "Call off the attack immediately. This battle is at an end. Any man who raises their hand against any one of them answers to me and all my authority."

Armad joins the group!

Enemy Units are no longer hostile!

Armad turned back to Diana, and the people gathered behind her. "I haven't seen Kunsel anywhere in the castle lately- I suspect he is in the throne room with my father. Should it come to such, you deal with him. I'll handle my father."

Wilfort to 17-15

As Wilfort flew over towards the throne room, Brann waved slightly weakly at him.

"We've gained an ally it seems. Prince Armand has joined us to help defeat his father."

"You have my word. We will only attack Ansel if I deem that you need our help against him. I can't guarantee the safety of the prophet, however. King Exsten may have been the one to raise his sword to my family, but it was Kunsel that set him on that path, and he at least must answer for that."

"I only hope we're in time to stop whatever it is this prophet has planned. For now, I'll follow your lead, Prince."

Diana to 15,16.

"You misunderstand me, Princess. I fully intend to have Kunsel put to death. Whether it be here and now or a public execution in the next few days depends on his attitude."

"...Then allow me to rephrase it as a request of my own, Prince Armad. I want to be the one to kill Kunsel."

Diana glanced over at Wilfort, wondering how he was taking these recent developments.

"Absolutely."

Wilfort was busy speaking with Brann, quietly. "Lucky us, I suppose. I just hope this isn't some kind of ploy."

"As long as we understand each other, then."

"I suppose all that's left is to see if Ansel will listen to you."

"Seems like something is going on over there. We probably should check, are you able to stand up, Enoch?"

Seeing the large number of Exsten forces plus what looked like an Exstenian royal as he walked into the room, Jago began to raise his crossbow in alarm... but seeing lack of actual fighting, lowered it.
:"So... wait, we're not fighting now? What's going on?"

"Prince Armad is as sick of seeing blood spilled as the rest of us. Try to keep up, Jago."
