The archers before Diana let their bows fall to the ground with a clatter, and the mage abandoned his book just as he had done his staff. The archers seemed too shocked to speak, but the mage offered a few hesitant words. "The uh, the prince... Prince Armad is beyond that door. His guard is with him- I'm not sure why..."

The thud of hoofbeats outside told those near the entrance that the cavalry would soon arrive.

In the southern hallway, the remaining swordsman attacked who he perceived to be the least threatening enemy. Unfortunately, Wilfort's lance handling proves sufficient to evade or parry all of the swordsman's strikes- and even sneaking in a successful counterattack.
