Oscar fires off 3 quick shots at the Lancer who brought down Ursa. The strikes were not overwhelming by themselves, but together they had his target reeling.

Quote
Oscar attacks Lanceguard B!
135+15+5+5-43=117: Autohit!
24+1-18=7 Damage!

Skill Roll: 5- Adept!

Oscar attacks again!
7 Damage!

Oscar attacks again!
7 Damage!

As Oscar rides away, Enoch moves into position where his horse had been, holding one hand up to sky. The man grinned widely at the bright light encompassing his hand as the Lancer stood, frozen in terror, eyes fixed upon the light. Enoch launched the brightness at the Lancer, and with a long scream, the man was no more. With the bright light gone, only a small wooden carving remained in Enoch's hand. Then, that too turned to ash, just as the target of the final spell that came from it.

Quote
Enoch attacks Lanceguard B!
135+5+5-43=102: Autohit!
Critroll: 7-Crit!
39+1-6=34x3=102 Damage!

Prelude has broken!

Otiros fires off a couple shots at the other Lancer, but the defender brings his shield up, and the bolts ricochet off of the metal sheet.

Quote
Otiros attacks Lanceguard A!
134+10+5+5-43=Autohit. Again.
16+2-18=0 Damage!

Otiros attacks again!
0 Damage!

While Otiros fires, Diana steps to the Lancer's undefended side, and brings her axe down on his shoulder. His arm is nearly entirely removed at the shoulder and the shield that had protected him a moment ago falls to the floor as the man kneels, clutching his nearly severed shoulder with his weapon hand. Diana brings her axe to his throat, and ends his agony.

Quote
Diana attacks Lanceguard A!
122+15+10-43=104- There are no brakes on the autohit train.
Critroll: 16-Crit!
37+1+2-18=22x3=66 Damage!

Brann is the first of the group to set foot in Castle Exsten proper, and while the dark caster struggles to target him with a spell, Brann moves forward, almost faster than the eye can register, and cleanly removes his head in a single swipe of the blade. The caster's head hits the ground, producing an unsettling noise.

Roll: 66-Hit! Critroll: 30-Crit!
32+1-10=23x3=69 Damage!

"You know," Wilfort mused as his pegasus carried him inside the castle, "If I'd been told half a year ago that I'd be invading Castle Exsten with about a handful of people who I didn't know at the time, I would have assumed whoever was telling me that was totally of his rocker. And here we are."

Meanwhile, Ceil used her powers to force Ursa's wounds shut, and restored some missing blood to his arteries.
