"She was the youngest child. I doubt she was exactly groomed for the throne. Can't expect her to know everything in light of that. If I wasn't the first heir, you can bet I wouldn't know half of this."

"We need to deal with Ansel first. As for Diana's hotheadedness, we'll cross that bridge when we reach it."

Brann frowned and nodded.

"You're right, of course. I should try and stop worrying. Just... every time I try, something else happens and it all comes rushing back. But I'll try and do better. Thank you for listening. It's good to know I'm not alone in my fears."

"Anytime. You're smart, and useful. And it does make me feel better to know I'm not the only one who sees these things."

Brann muttered under his breath,

"I think you'd have to be blind to not see it some times... Well... We should probably get back to the rest of the group. Unless there was something we're supposed to be doing?"

Wilfort shook his head. "She ordered the place searched for any additional soldiers, but we didn't find anyone. Or any gear, besides what's on the corpses, but none of that is really worth taking. Too damaged."

"Right then. Hopefully after this, there will be no more Worus lives lost in this fight. Too many have already given their lives for battles that shouldn't have even happened... It's time to take this battle to the people who caused it."

He stood up, and started back towards the throne room and the rest of the group.

The Sniper finally returned after making sure the area was clear, holding the small sum of coins on a hand and the crossbow on the other.

"The area is clear. Also seems like they didn't leave much gold here, or they hid  the rest very well."

Diana finished hauling the last body to the pile outside.

"Hmm. Better than nothing, I suppose, though I was hoping to find more immediately useful supplies. Anyway, good work Otiros. That will come in handy at least."

She patted the sniper on the shoulder of his plate armor.

Ursa wiped his bloody hands on a nearby hanging tapestry.

: "So, this enemy is dead. Next enemy is Ex-ten king, right?"

Jago inspected his crossbow post-battle, noting unhappily that the weapon had seen better days. He looked over at Otiros, and spotted Otiros' steel crossbow, and so walked over to Otiros.
:"Man, I'm a little jealous of that crossbow."

"Not yet. But soon we will be marching on Exsten. Hopefully soon enough to stop his foolish plan before he can get to the next part of it."

Otiros nodded at that and presented a brief salute, even if the shoulder patting was a tad confusing for him. Mostly because of his soldier-like habits.
"Thank you Milady. And I also do find weird that we only could find this in a place holding so many soldiers."
The armored Sniper turned around to face Jago as soon as he spoke up.
"Actually, I do need a crossbow replacement. This one simply won't do the job against heavily armored enemies. This is what happens if I try to fire this weapon against them."
He grabbed one of the crossbows bolts and slammed it hard against his own chestplate as if that was something common. Of course that resulted in a loud "thud", but that was about it, the armor was just fine.
"I heard there is an enchanted crossbow with bolts capable of going through armors, I am hoping we can find one of those before the next battle."

:"And that's steel. The only time I can get mine, iron, to hurt anything is when I pump a ton of thunder into the bolt."

"Steel? Feels so light to me. And you do have an advantage I don't have, you can use magic. When facing other heavy armored soldiers, I cannot do much besides hold the line. Maybe you can help me to search for the crossbow I told you about. I will make sure to give you this one if we find the other."

Otiros laid a gloved hand on Jago's shoulder to give him a nudge.

"And good work out there. I noticed your abilities improved a lot. I think you would be very respected in my squad...But now I am not even sure what my function is anymore."

The heavy armored soldier crossed his arms and let out some kind of muffled grunt.

"The last two soldiers I knew are gone. And now I have no castle to protect anymore, and...I don't think many of those people following Queen Diana are willing to interact with me either. Do you have a path planned, Jago?"

Jago grinned a little at the mention of his magic.
:"Heh, magic is a nice boost, isn't it! Going to have Anita teaching me, too."
:"As for talking to people... you just gotta get out there and talk to people more, man. You usually don't talk to the others much, but if you did I'm sure you'd be good at it."

The last part of Otiros' conversation sunk in though, and Jago grew visibly more pensive, smirk disappearing as he thought out an answer.
:"Path... path... ... ...no, I... actually don't. At all, I... I haven't really thought about it at all, I've just kind of been going with the flow."
