"... Be wary. If he is allied with Yondell, this could be a trap. Though... He tends to stick to the law strongly, so he may not be the type to go along with such a trap. Of course... That doesn't mean he's our friend. He would be the type to call for a parley to inform you that he plans to attack."

Enoch was silent, but instead of watching the man approach, he looked around the man as if trying to pick something out. Something didn't sit right with the mage.

"Very well. We'll listen to what he has to say, but we're not going to let our guard down."

Oscar brought his horse to Diana's left side, keeping his bow at ready.

Someone gotta be paranoid about her safety, after all.

The rider came closer, lowering his flag about 30 feet away from the group. "You are Princess Diana of Durhiel, correct? You lead this force?"

Jago casually crossed his arms, his hand in fact reaching for his side under his armor, where he had hidden that Elthunder, and his other hand slipping into that Magic Ring in his pocket.

Ursa kept a tight hold on his Lucky Hatchet, but made no overtly hostile moves.

Enoch was off in his own little world, looking as if the small mage was straining to find or see something in the distance. His frequent scanning of the horizon stopped dead and he stared at a specific spot for a while. The strange mage hmm'ed as he watched closer, before nodding. He spoke quietly enough that the man thirty feet away wouldn't hear.

"Ms. Liege, I smell magic of siege."

Lucas squinted, trying to see what Enoch saw, but he couldn't detect amything and spoke to him in the same volume he did.

The power that ring gave you lets you see that? I don't sense much of anything.

By the way, did you finally manage to get results from our little experimental "curse"?

"Its faint, but has a recognizable taint." The mage gestured towards an empty scene ahead at Lucas' comment, where he had been staring. "The ring has helped acquaint, I offer no plaint to its powers."

"Indeed, I think there will be much to exult with the result. There's yet to be insult to test on the quest, but it seems its simply past the crest." The mage motioned in the direction of the man.

"I apologize but I'm short on trust right now. Unless you have a compelling reason for why I should go along with this, if he wants to speak with me, he can bring three of his men as escorts and come find me."

The messenger looked rather offended, and turned his horse around, going back the way they came. A short while later, he returned, along with three other riders, one of whom was wearing stately armor. The group stopped well away from Diana and her forces.

"Princess Diana Durhiel. I am Pataphrax, of the Council of Worus. I seek parley before we come to blows. Have we your leave to approach?"
