"I have heard that Ulfijan is quite lovely this time of year"

"You hear right, friend. The trees are magnificent, and so are the wom-" Wedge broke off his sentence at a sharp look from Biggs.

"I see. I suppose it's for the best that we avoid towns, so no one has a chance to recognize me."

She hadn't went out among her subjects often, and when she did it was usually only the towns closest to the castle and with an escort of at least one guard. She didn't like to burden the guards with watching out for her. For now, she turned her attention to Tyrn and Wedge.

"What can you tell me about it? I would like to know more about where we're headed."

She had been to Ulfijan before, in her childhood years. She didn't remember it very well.

"I've heard the terrain is much more hilly compared to Durhiel, especially in the east. That's where they say pegasi originated from."

"It's a beautiful place. The trees stretch higher than a townhouse, and sometimes the leaves gently flutter down, like rain, but gentler. And the shade they give sure beats sitting in the sun."

"Only if you're concerned about sunburn, Wedge." Biggs said, smiling for the first time that day.

"You fall asleep once on a beautiful summer day, and you never hear the end of it..."

"I've heard the terrain is much more hilly compared to Durhiel, especially in the east. That's where they say pegasi originated from."

"Oh yeah, in the northern parts of the country, if you go far enough to the east, you'll run into honest to goodness mountains. If you're lucky, you can spot wild pegasi. They say they'll flee in the presence of all but the purest maids." Wedge waggled his eyebrows. No one could see it under his helmet.

"Wait a second...so there are lots of mountains? Doesn't that also means lots of brigands or mountain warriors?"

"I wonder if I could meet a wild pegasus."

She had never even kissed a boy before. She was expected to stay chaste until marriage, for one thing, and for another she could hardly be out and about with a man of common blood - whether or not she wanted to be being completely out of the question. She expected she would be in an arranged marriage with a prince in a few years, but until then, Diana felt like she was missing out on a lot. Especially if the romance novels she read were anything to go by.

"Well, I suppose we'll see when we get there. Ulfijan have many pegasus knights if I recall my history lessons correctly. Perhaps I can see one of theirs if we don't come across any wild ones."

"I'd like to ride one someday. It must be exhilarating to be so far above the ground, with the wind through your hair..."

" I guess this is one of those moments the archer should be quiet, right?"

He laughed for a moment before returning to his normal posture.

"You would shoot a pegasus?!"

Needless to say, Diana was horrified. They were beautiful, majestic creatures!

"Not all Pegasi riders are on the sides of our allies milady, in battle the worlds beauty becomes a secondary concern."

"I... suppose I understand. It's a necessary evil, isn't it?"

Diana sighed. That was the way of the world. The blame would just have to be put on the people who bent animals to their own ends and not on the people forced to defend themselves from said animals.

"So, Otiros, have you ever been outside of Durhiel?"

"He is right, not all of them are our allies."

Otiros shook his head at the second question.

"Honestly? I never left Durhiel at all, so this is being all new to me."

Replied at the beginning

:"Good day, my lady."

Diana was silent for a long period of time while she tried to sort out her thoughts. After awhile, though, she spoke up once more, addressing the group at large.

"What do you plan on doing when we reach Castle Ulfijan?"

"Well of course we will be watching over you princess, that's what we're here for. Though... I suppose if a chance few some sight seeing presented itself, however unlikely that may be with how full time our duties are, it would be rather nice"
