Oscar paced about quietly, staring at Brann and Ceil. Then at Tyrn and Willfort. Everyone was talking with someone or happily minding their business. He felt bitter that no one was talking with him. But he could live with it.

He walked up to the Princess and Anita, but as they were still talking, he decided to quietly stand still and wait for his turn to speak.

"I... uhm, well, I got it from one of the enemy mages. I didn't... It's not supposed to mean anything special or anything. I just... I thought it might help you? Apparently it has some power that will help magic users and so I thought maybe it would help you do better in battles or something..."

He trailed off awkwardly, staring at the deck again, holding the ring out to her.

: "Oh?" Ceil gingerly took the ring off of Brann, holding it up to the sun to examine it for a moment before testing it on her left hand. After looking at it a bit more from her hand, she stamped her staff down, producing a bright spark from the staff's gem, "I think you're right... It's slight, but every little bit helps in the long run. Thank you, Brann, I'll see it put to good use." Ceil bowed curtly, with a grin.

"I... Well... good. I'm glad it could help. Uhm, I'm going to go see how I can help get us moving again. I will talk to you later."

With that, Brann rushed off, hoping that his embarrassment wasn't too obvious.

: "Hm?" Ceil glanced off as she saw Brann run off in a bit of a hurry, "Strange... I wonder if he's feeling alright?"

~Chapter 7~
~The Desperation of the Dying~

Diana and her forces thwarted the pirate attack upon the open seas, completely destroying the crew and ending their pirate ways forever. The bounty of treasure, and the value of the ship itself have filled the war chest to bursting. Fortunate news, as the princess's soldiers are battered, weary, and low on supplies. Prince Wilfort commands Farris to bring  the Exalt to port in Kuimer, the center northern province of Worus. Despite Princess Diana's misgivings, he is certain he can find them help there. Using the Worusian flag taken from the pirate vessel, as well as forged documents, the group docks masquerading as a domestic vessel.

"Thank you for your help Farris. You do me proud."

Farris nodded. "I am happy to do my duty for you, my prince. But I'm afraid we'll be subject to scrutiny from the authorities if we stay too long. Luck be with you on your journey."

Wilfort nodded to Farris, and turned to Diana. "Well, this is our stop. You take the entourage and get us supplied. I'm going to speak to the Senator. If I don't come back by tomorrow, assume I'm dead. Or captured. Or something."

Ursa wobbled a little, still used to the rocking motion of the sea, but he beamed in joy.

: "Ah, back on ground! Sea is nice, but this better."

"Eh. I prefer the saddle."

Farris approached Diana. "Me and the boys drug up as much coin as we could spare. I look forward to hearing tales of your success."

The party gains 4000 Gold!

'Plan C, part 1, starts now!'

"Don't get killed, Willfort, that would be terrible."

Diana took the gold.

"Thank you, captain Farris. We'll use it well. I wish you safety on your travels."

She inclined her head to the captain, then disembarked and waited for her allies on the docks.

Lucas had wobbled down to land and spent some time trying to remember how to walk.

So, all we have to do now is wait for Wilfort to return or not? We could do something more productive with our very valuable time.

"We'll go around the shops soon and get supplies... once everyone is off the ship and ready."

Diana leaned on a nearby crate.
