: "Welcome."

: "Really though, Princess must take care of herself as well as her pack. Everyone see Princess as leader, and..."

: "Well, everyone will be sad if something bad happens. Ursa not smile again if Princess get hurt."

"I know they do, and it's... it's a lot to think about. I - I never thought the responsibility of a group, let alone an entire kingdom if we can liberate it, would fall on my shoulders."

She rubbed her thumb along the back of her hand absently.

"...And I certainly wouldn't want that."

Diana looked over and smiled at him, before returning her gaze to her hands.

"Sometimes, though... I just wanna run away from it all. Go into hiding and live a simple life, forget about all this. But... I can't. Even if I left the Exstenians alone, I doubt they would stop hunting me."

"I'm happy to have such strong and faithful allies like you..."

"A-and Otiros, and Tyrn, and Oscar of course too, everyone, I mean."

"Nah. To be honest, the forces of the Queen I serve just eradicated the entire crew of this ship." He looked her over for a moment.

"Well I don't think you look like a murderer or enemy of Durhiel, so. Would you be interested in serving Queen Diana? I mean, she is on a quest which I find rather absurd so she will need any help she can get." He then looked around for a moment.

"Think about it while I look for the key?" And search for the key he does.

Lucas watched Brann give Felicia the knife without any kind of hesitation.

I don't see anyone having problems trusting her as I do, and by her reaction I'm sure I'm making an idiot out of myself. Again.

Diana, uh, Princess. Can I speak with you for a minute?

Diana looked at Lucas, and for the briefest instant, her expression was completely annoyed.

"What do you need?"

It's just one question. Do you trust Felicia?

"I honestly don't know. She was with the Exstenians, and she could only be helping us now to gain our trust so she can knife me in the back later. Please understand that our position is very fragile. I can't afford to hand out trust easily these days."

She looked him in the eyes.

"Why do you ask?"

Lucas showed Diana the Fell Contract.

It started because of this. She told me this could give power to certain individuals and I, well, kept it from her in distrust. But then I saw the other swordsman giving her a knife without a problem and I thought that my reaction wasn't exactly... appropriate.

Diana sighed.

"I'm not sure which one of you was correct. On the one hand it is foolish of us to tie her hands if she's truly on our side. On the other it is equally foolish to literally give her a knife she can stab us with if that's her true purpose."

The princess rubbed her forehead, focusing just above her eyebrows.

"...I suppose, in the end, I would rather regret trusting someone I should not have than not trusting someone I should have. If you feel she should have this contract, then you may give it to her without fear of angering me."

"Huh?"

"Y-you weren't 'interrupting' anything! Ursa was just - seeing if I was all right after the battle! That's ALL it was, Lucas!"

It was hard to tell if she was mad about the insinuation that there was something between her and Ursa... or mad that there wasn't anything. Either way, she promptly looked away from both Lucas and Ursa, arms crossed and frowning.

Ursa gave Diana a nonplussed look, confused by her outburst.

Lucas just shrugged and went back to Farris' ship to rest and think.

Diana glanced back to see Ursa and Lucas's reactions, and upon seeing Lucas leaveing and Ursa looking confused, blushed and looked down at her hands again... though she was no longer frowning, and occasionally glanced at the large man from the corner of her eyes.

"Well... anyway... D-don't worry about that, Ursa. I'm just... glad to have you at my side."

He was one of the first people who she felt supported her for who she was and not what she represented. There was an honesty between them caused by his lack of understanding of the civilized world that she didn't feel from anyone else; that wall of royal blood didn't seem to be a barrier against him the way it was for her other allies. She felt that sometimes even Tyrn thought of her as Princess Durhiel first and Diana second.

"Somehow... I don't feel quite so scared of our chances when you're near me..."

As Lucas re-boarded the Exalt, Wilfort spoke to him, but didn't shift his gaze. "Don't you think that could have waited until the princess and Ursa were done talking?" He asked, sounding a little huffy.
