~Enemy Phase 12~

Ross hits Lucas with his Swordslayer hard enough that the shaman's body cracks the planks beneath him.

"I... I'm so sorry. Could perhaps Ceil help with it somehow? That seems a terrible burden to carry for one who fights as much as we have been."

"The damage can be healed, and the eff--... Effects repealed, but with time it will be sealed, I must just... Just..." Enoch tottered unstably and shivered once more as the black veins on his face visibly twitched and spread, more veins blackening with poisonous bile. He slumped to his knees and clutched his chest, refusing to move anymore.

His thoughts were rather too preoccupied with the fact that, in what can only be anachronistically described, it currently felt like burning gasoline and shards of glass took up residence in his body and decided to take a lovely road trip to his heart.

Lucas gets up from the hole Ross smashed him into, still bleeding a bit.

Uh, it was nothing, really. I thought we could use your safecracking skills to add insult to injury. By the way, the name's Lucas.

Lucas cleaned himself up a bit and turned to Ross.

Heh, you should have thought your last words a little more, maybe you could have muttered something other than empty threats. It doesn't matter if it's by my hand or by someone else's, but the one who's going down is you. Face it! You can't do anything after you run out of friends.
