Ursa had developed a liking for climbing the mast and perching in the crow's nest, gazing in wonder at the vastness and power of the ocean.
: "Ursa can see so far! And yet still can't see the whole water!"

"Milady. Is there something bothering you?"

"...Just feeling the weight of all of this. We've got such a large task ahead of us if we're to restore Durhiel to its rightful place... and I don't know if it's even possible for us to overcome Exsten. They somehow managed to defeat every other country when we all had entire armies. I'm... just not sure what we can accomplish with so few of us."

"We'd likely have stood a better chance if Worus hadn't rolled over at the first sign of trouble." Wilfort said, walking up the side of the deck toward Diana. "How's everyone doing?"

For Ursa, up in the crow's nest, the ocean seemed to stretch forever. Some dark clouds lay far ahead, but it was impossible for him to tell if they'd come into contact. Farris yelled up to the wildman. "Ursa! If you're going to be up there, be a good lad tell me if you spot anything!"

Oscar silently glared daggers at Willfort, before he resumed glaring daggers at the expansive, terryfying, blueness over the railing.

"It appears the only two people from Worus with courage, Brann and Ceil, are already with us. It's all rather unfortunate."

Diana sighed and turned to Wilfort.

"...I said some rather awful things to you earlier, and I apologize for them. I know what it's like to lose family. I don't know if I've been thinking straight since Father died, to be honest. It's just... hard to keep going when everything seems so hopeless and so much weight rests on you."

Brann clenched his jaw, hearing Diana and the others talk about Worus like that. Regardless of his personal views, he understood that facing down Ansel was no easy task. Many would have died if they had fought. That much was obvious from looking at the countries that had stood against him. He sighed and rested his head against the rail of the ship. Nothing good would come from speaking out. The princess would never change her mind, that much was clear.

"I try not to let those things cloud my judgement about you. Resentment between any of us isn't going to do us any favors in the coming battles."

"Would you mind coming with me for a moment? There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about since we started fighting back at the castle. You hadn't seemed in an agreeable mood though."

Ceil rubbed her adjusting eyes as she came above deck, passing by Oscar.
: "...Couldn't get any sleep, Sir Oscar?" She observed quietly, but continued onto the deck's side, near Brann and Tyrn, "...Freya's doing well, at least. She should be in fighting condition now." She idly reported, standing near the rail and looking off into the distance.

Ursa sniffed carefully at the air, but if the clouds were stormy he couldn't smell it yet. He shouted back towards the deck.

: "Many dark clouds up ahead, but that's it!" He waved at familiar faces down below, Diana's especially.

"That so?" Fargus commented, more to himself than Ursa. "Alright lad, report any changes." For the moment, there was nothing to report.

Brann glanced at Ceil and smiled a bit at her. Moving over so he was standing next to her, he commented,

"Good to hear about Freya at least. She fights so hard for the group, it's good to hear that she didn't have lasting harm from that fight. You've done well here."

Diana waved back at Ursa, then gestured for Wilfort to lead the way to wherever it was that he wanted to talk to her.

Wilfort led Diana to the rear of the ship, where after he shooed away a couple of sailors, he reached a hand into a pocket.

"When we received King Drahool's request to harbor you while he repelled the invasion in Durhiel, my mother had these prepared. She had planned to present them to the both of us- though as usual, I did most of the running for it. Anyway, this is yours." Wilfort handed Diana a small, ornate seal made from gold and silver, inlaid with a single, large pearl. "...My mother was very fond of your father. I don't know if you knew that. She said she hoped that the two of us could have the same sort of friendship. Though to be honest, I'm not personally sure that's really possible anymore."

Diana gets Heaven's Seal!

Diana took the Heaven's Seal and looked at it.

"...While I thank you for this precious gift, you're probably right. Besides, I imagine the 'friendship' they imagined was more of an arranged marriage. There seems little other use for a princess these days, I think."

The princess sighed.

"Maybe if we had met in other circumstances and in five or six years I wouldn't object. But things are as they are, and I have to think of my country's future... as do you. We have to ensure our bloodlines continue, not... mix."

She leaned back against the railing, slipping the seal into a pocket so as not to lose it.

"Speaking of... what ARE your plans once Exsten is dealt with?"

Wilfort went red and lost his collected demeanor entirely. "Wait, whoa, no! It's not- This was never- No. No no no nono. This-this is not a proposal. This was never intended as a proposal, at any point, I assure you." Wilfort shook his head and fanned himself, flustered. "No, uh, what I meant was... You know. Friendship. Before this started, we were equals, you and I. I mean, sure, we're both effectively heads of our respective nations now..." Wilfort turned to the railing, and stood on his tip toes to see over it. "But you still have those who respect you, people who will honor your commands and obey them without hesitation. Hell, most of them aren't even from Durhiel and you still get that! I have no one save the sailors aboard this vessel... I do not command respect. I am effectively your subordinate. And I don't really like that. But it is something I will have to get used to if I want my empire, or my revenge."
