Wilfort had set himself down quite a distance away from Ursa and Diana, watching the two carefully. He looked up as Jago approached. "Oh, it's you." The young prince returned to watching the training pair. "...He's much more intelligent than he seems at first glance, isn't he?"

"Right, I suppose I should've mentioned. You'll be staying in some guest quarters on the top floor of the castle. I'm afraid most of your companions will be in a single room. We have a lot of... guests at the moment. We can spare a private room for Diana, and one for the two women of your group, but the rest of you will take a room together. I'll show you to it later this evening."

Ceil nodded with a smile as she briefly looked around.
: "The day is well, brother." She glanced about, noting the various peoples in prayer and asked quietly, "Am I interrupting service?"

The man shook his head with a sad smile. "No, not at all. People are here praying at all hours. Some pray that their families will come through the gates. Others pray that King Ansel will not come. Still others pray for the safety of their sons who shall stand against his horde. So many prayers. It is said that only in such time do so many come to the temple." He shook his head again, still smiling a little. "Still, better to pray only in times of great need than not at all. Now, what can I do for you?"

Diana thought.

"Not really... but I wanted to thank you."

Ursa's the only one who treats me like a human, instead of keeping his distance because of my blood. It's... refreshing.

"Er, for the training, I mean."

"So... more like this then?"

She wound up and struck the dummy a full-force blow to the ribs that left her staggering back a bit after the impact.

: "Oh, there is no need. I am just a wandering sister here to pay my respects." Ceil looked on respectfully to the altar, "As well as ask for a steady path in the coming weeks, for the faithful. And perhaps, more selfishly, to spare a little light on my own path."

"Then I shall leave you to your prayer." The priest bowed to Ceil. "May the Father guide you on your path."

Ursa laughed as he caught the stumbling Diana once more.

: "Princess is very welcome. Keep getting better like this and you'll be using real axe in no time. At least Princess won't bounce off so much once that happens." After making sure she was steady, he let her go.

: "Ursa will bring second dummy over so he can train as well. If Princess has any questions, just ask. Talking is good way to ignore sore muscles."

"...!"

Diana tensed up as Ursa caught her. She wasn't sure why he was making her so nervous; it certainly wasn't his size. She hadn't been intimidated by that since they first met. Maybe she was nervous because she felt... comfortable? ...This was confusing. Luckily for her, Ursa steadied her and gave her an out as he walked off to get his own training dummy.

"Right, sure, yes..."

She resumed attacking the dummy in earnest, trying to burn off some nervous energy.

Ceil nodded with another smile and took a place in front the altar among the other folk, kneeling down, laying her old staff in front of her, and clasping her hands together.
: "...I give my thanks for the gifts you have bestowed upon us, and your ever present light upon us stray men and women of your creation." She began in a hushed murmur, "I pray for your ever guiding light in these times of turmoil, and for the safety of the innocent from the harsh ambition of those who wield power in vain." Ceil paused for a moment in contemplation, "I know not why you have set me upon this path, alongside another of noble birth so above me, such after my childish failure. But as ever I will act in your trust and service. No soul shall suffer in my vigil, and as my exile continues I will leave health and safety in my wake. In this path, I hope your blessing will pass on to a new instrument." She set her hands apart, signifying the end of her prayer, and reached back to place the new staff beside the old. Ceil laid her hands on both staves, side by side, and spend a good while meditating silently.

Brann glanced over at Diana and Ursa's training session and grinned slightly. The two of them seemed to be getting along wonderfully, which made him happy. He remembered how nervous he'd been about the two of them first meeting but it seemed it'd been useless worry. That was good. He turned his focus back to his training dummy, and started practicing his accuracy once again. It didn't really matter how strong his thrust was if he could land a well placed blow.

Otiros drummed his fingers along his crossbow, just wondering if they were really just going to sit there. It was hard to him to do something like that after all those recent events.

Ursa dragged a second dummy over and began to run though a brief version of his own regimen, pulling his blows just enough so that each strike produced a sharp "tap!" instead of a full-fledged "thwack!". He didn't want to dull the edge of his shiny new axe too much before it saw combat for the first time, after all.

As he worked, he kept an eye on Diana. It was mostly just to make sure she was doing a good job, and he occasionally offered pointers on her stance and such. However, if he was honest with himself he simply enjoyed being around her. And why not? She was clearly talented, and smart, and pretty...
Pretty? Where had that come from? It wasn't a word he had ever used to describe a person before. Curious. He figured some small talk might be in order while he sorted his thoughts.

: "If not mind asking, how did Princess learn swordfighting? Something like this, or something else?" Maybe he could get some pointers on how to be a better teacher.
