Diana turned to her people. She was sure the majority of them knew this, but Ursa probably didn't, and Oscar didn't seem like he could help himself.

"Please understand we do not intend to be rude. This is simply the way it is in the courts; you will have plenty of time to speak your mind after the audience."

She turned to Wilfort.

"I am ready whenever you are."

Oscar simply crossed his arms at his chest and didn't even said a word of reply.

: "Got it. Ursa no talk."

: "...oops."

If he spoke again before someone said he could, Ursa promised himself, he would have no meat for an entire week and no beer for a year.

Otiros didn't look too happy about that. But it was hard to notice because of his helmet.

"Please wait here a moment." Wilfort entered the doors, and closed them behind him.

A short time later, the doors opened. "Presenting the Princess Diana Durhiel!"

Diana entered the throne room, subtly motioning behind her back for her companions to follow her, and approached the throne as she took stock of the interior of the room. When she neared the throne, she stopped and took a knee, bowing low. She actually wasn't sure if she should speak yet, so she waited to be addressed.

The throne room was somewhat larger than the one at Castle Durhiel, with many expensive tapestries covering the walls. The throne was covered in furs, and seated upon them was a tall, slender woman holding a bow that was nearly 8 feet in length. The Empress Beltana.

"Rise, Diana. It warms my heart to see that you have arrived safely. You are not exactly as your father's message described, but I see him well enough in you." A shadow of a frown flickered across the Empress' face. "Given that the Mad King is marching on my castle, I am forced to assume your father is passed. Is this the case?"

Diana rose, but her head remained lowered for a moment. Thinking about it still hurt.

"...Yes, your majesty. I am the last of the line of Durhiel, and Exsten holds my country captive. King Exsten acquired Gram and scattered our forces."

She waited to see what Beltana would ask of her.

Beltana visibly grit her teeth when Diana told her Gram was lost. "The loss of Drahool is felt by us all. Durhiel's former King was a dear friend of mine in my youth. You have my sympathy. Alas, aside from that, I am afraid all I can grant you now is asylum. My own army has been decimated by Exsten. The garrison here, though mighty, is all that remains."

"You also have us now, Empress. We defeated the garrison left in charge of Castle Durhiel and killed one of their generals."

Diana's clenched fists trembled at her sides.

"I want to see the Mad King dead for what he's done to my family and my people, what he's done to Osngaria. I will not sit idle while he tries to do the same to your family, your kingdom. Not when I can stop it. Please, allow me to fight alongside your forces."

Diana took a deep breath, eyes closed, and forced control on her emotions.

"I apologize. But what I said remains true. I will do whatever is in my power to aid you."

(Sorry, just trying to get something in as I don't often get a chance.)

Kale took a deep breath as Diana spoke. He wanted to speak. Stil his respect, and knowledge of what may result in speaking out of turn, kept him silent.

(Also, my bad if I'm technically not in the scene.)

Diana heard him and turned to look at him.

"Is there something you'd like to say, Kale?"

(And now you can participate. ^^^)

Beltana said nothing, but narrowed her eyes at Kale.
