"Commanding isn't something you learn from the day to the night. You did...exaggerate a bit on the part of killing them, but some people use that as a method to inflict fear on their opponents. But I am not sure if you are the kind of person who would use it."

There was an audible sound of teeth grinding together as the strange mage stiffened and shook involuntarily, staring down at the corpse vehemently. With a pained gesture the mage casted at the axe in the dead man's grasp out of spite more than anything, kicking whatever remained away.

Enoch immediately moved to the trees besides him, leaning against one as he shakily rummaged in his robes for something, before finally finding what it and biting into it. The gritting noises ceased and the mage stayed leaning against the tree silently, seeming to do little else but breathe.

He seemed inordinately down about that.

"Hey you there! In the robes. Are you alright? What's your business here?"
"Me? I'm alright, thanks. I'm just a sort of wandering shaman from Osngaria. I arrived to Durhiel Castle some days ago, but the colors were all wrong so I decided to go to Ulfijan Castle."

Jago moves over to Freya.
:"Here, I think Ceil's gonna be busy with the others, so I figured I should help you out."
Jago takes off a pouch that hangs near his quiver, rummaging in it and pulling out some bandages.
:"Learned some first aid so to survive traveling... can't fully heal you, but I can help."
Jago begins to wrap a few of Freya's wounds.
Freya lift an arm to allow better access to her wounds.
:"Thank you, Jago."
She hisses at a sore spot.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Diana laughed nervously.

"Well, I was rather angry that these people would be preying on my subjects now of all times. It's bad enough that they do it at all, but to be doing so during a war? That's despicable."

@Ceil in the future/past/now whenever CE shows up:

Oscar stood up, feeling much better by now.

"Thanks." He then reached down and lifted his beret, dusting it off and then putting it on his head. He then went to Diana.

"Princess, I'm glad you're... fine. May I have a word with you, though?"

Jago softens up more once Freya hisses at a wound being touched.
:"Sorry."

"Is it wise to let these bandits run away? They should be hunted down and killed. One thing, they will surely return to banditry sooner or later after today. Secondly, they might bring unwanted attention toward our group." Oscar looked at his horse, and then back at Diana.

"I could catch with them and shoot them down, if you want?"

"I am aware, Milady. But even if it is hard, you need to focus. Attacking without any plans can be really dangerous."

After a long moment, Diana nodded.

"...Do it." I was going to ask Jago and Otiros to shoot them down anyway but then Powder ninja'd me and I had to change my post. :p

She turned to Otiros.

"You're right, of course. I need to start thinking like a general, but that's easier said than done."

Diana sighed.

"I just hope I figure it out in time for when we really need it."

~Chapter 4~
Fool's Hope

With the leader of the bandits dead, Diana and her followers continued to the Ulfijan Capital City, where her Father had hoped she could reach before the war might touch her. The city is surrounded by walls on three sides, with the fourth side placed up against the mountains to the east. With the steep slopes leading up to the city, it's naturally easy to defend.

Those defensive capabilities will soon be tested, however.

~

As Castle Ulfijan comes into sight, the group finds the walled city with its gates shut.
