"Probably. But right now..I think that is the best choice for me. I am still some kind of soldier, right?"

"Sorry, I am just.. concerned, that is all. I really didn't expect so many bad things to happen at the same time."

Brann sighed. "You could. Just... know that it could make things worse too, depending on how she's dealing with it. But she would likely appreciate knowing thta you're thinking about her.

"....Alright. Hopefully we won't end up on another tight place so soon. I really didn't like the idea of being considered a prisoner too."

~Chapter Three~
In the Wake of War

Diana and her followers took their leave of Castle Durhiel, leaving it in the hands of the few citizens that had remained. They made their way north into Ulfijan, where it became clear that Ansel's army had also marched this way.

To keep her small band from being found by Exsten's forces, Diana led her group along the Ulfijan-Osngaria border, at the base of the mountains. But the war would reach them, one way or another...

It has been three days since Diana's group had begun their march into Ulfijan. Though they've managed to avoid any Exsten scouts, the marching has been tough regardless. However, they have no choice if they wish to reach Castle Ulfijan before Ansel.

And worse, it would seem they've come across bandits accosting a traveler.

"Hah! Look what we have here, boys! Some lackwit wandered onto our land. Tell you what, you give us everything but the clothes on your back, right now, and we won't skin you alive."

Lucas is in!

Diana, who had been walking in the middle of the group for her protection by general consensus, pushed ahead to see what Ursa was talking about.

More bandits... They've certainly increased in numbers since the war started. No choice for it. We have to help this traveler.

"Agreed. Everyone! Let's go!"

Diana drew her sword and moved to engage...

Brann grinned. Drawing his sword, he dashed forward and shouted out to the man being threatened, "Quick, traveler. We will protect you. As for you bandits, you will regret the day you decided to accost innocent men."
