"I think we came to a small misunderstanding. I do not object to you fighting in this war, though I do suggest you not be so reckless if you do fight. I simply meant to caution you on how you choose to fight, not only in this war, but also after the war. If you truly believe you must shed the blood of the Exsten King in order to end this war in a good manner, then perhaps you are right. Still, you need also be open to the possibility that there may be another way, even if you can't see it right now. In addition, even if logic dictates his relatives will seek revenge, you do not know this for sure, and it's only fair to give them a chance to prove you wrong. I would also like to add that revenge never yields positive results."

The man ponders for a moment before he gives just one more addition.

"If it's any assurance, I do know one born in Exsten who objects to the king's actions."

Kale's second comment went right over her head as she addressed the first one.

"I know. Even King Ansel, fool that he is, thinks he is doing the right thing. You're right. We'll see what happens when the dust settles. For all I know his son may be against this war too."

"But I fully plan on killing him, and any of his people that get in my way won't be spared."

Kale nods his head.

"I suppose that's all I can justly ask for now."

"I'm sorry. I don't expect you to understand. But I loved my father and my brothers, and King Ansel took them from me and forced me into this situation. After this war is over... It falls on my shoulders to rule the land, and to ensure the line of Durhiel continues."

"I don't know if I can handle those responsibilities... so I just want to focus on ending this war on my own terms, and take things as they happen afterward."

Ursa followed the conversation with some bewilderment before raising his hand.

: "Um...Ursa ask a question?"

Diana blinked.

"Oh... lots of them. An entire country's worth. Er. A country is like a territory. Durhiel is my territory, all people within it are part of my pack. King Ansel is the leader of the Exstenian pack."

It wasn't entirely like that, but she wasn't sure how to explain it to Ursa.

: "How many lots? Hundred? Thousand? Sound like Princess-pack and Ex-ten-pack need big territory, so must be lots of humans."

"Many thousands, Ursa. Tens of thousands. That's why we're going to Uljifan. Their pack hasn't been sundered yet, and we can help them defend their territory."

The big man's eyes widened at the sheer numbers.

: Ursa gonna need another axe... Out loud, he added "And when Princess kill head of Ex-te-pack, then what? Ex-tens follow Princess-pack?"

Despite herself and her mood, that actually got a short chuckle out of Diana.

"I wish it were that easy!"

She sobered up after a few moments.

"I don't know what will happen then Ursa, and that's worrying."

: "Hrm. Well, Balthazar said deal with today first, tomorrow second, next year third, next week last. Best not worry about that when Princess not know anything."

The fact Ursa said a specific name was curious to Diana. Usually everyone was some form of title with the man.

"...Who's Balthazar?"

: "Huh? Could have sworn Ursa mention him before..."

: "Balthazar man who name Ursa. Teach Ursa how to be human. He die many winters ago, but Ursa remember."
