Is that video multiple players or are the others AI controlled?
Players but the gameplay/comunication has been so planed that they look like AI. Looks moderately ok, i bet its just a linear game with very little freedom and the actual pvp is instanced like say dark souls.

I thought the chat was... oddly coherent.

Honestly it took me a bit to realize they were meant to be people and not characters (Her mentioning Area Heal... which is a meta power that doesn't exist in game... sealed it for me). Mostly because that is MUCH closer to how people would talk in that situation then the way most games present it.

I was like "Wow, they are actually going for realistic speech patterns!"

Mind you other things they said was CLEARLY manufactured. "What was that?" when the building shook... Have you played ANY videogames? NOTHING HAPPENED! They will shake buildings for no reason then to shake buildings.

This looks cool. The brief look at the RPG mechanics (skill system etc.) got me interested.

I honestly doubt the final game will be like the trailer, and honestly the way they'll probably make the game (If it gets finished at all) is a bunch of relatively small/linear areas linked to each other in rather simplistic ways. Either it'll get too ambitious and get canned, get too ambitious to the point where they cut a lot of stuff, or it's just a trailer showing features that probably won't even be in the final game to drum up interest.

I don't know why everyone is thinking the game will be linear.

I think the game will be the opposite of linear in the worst possible way. Sandbox of nothingness.

Are you seriously thinking that the other players were AIs good enough to pass the Turing test in a shooter, rather than actually being other people? And why would that be? According to the trailer linked to by hemmingjay, it's basically an open world MMO. Hey, maybe the twist is that you're an AI too!

Maybe he was a Shootitar, like in that new racing game.

This.

I don't trust Ubisoft with my money.

This just in, Ubisoft has created the first functional A.I. In other news, their games are still slowly becoming more and more mediocre.

Huh? Really? I thought the main voice that was heard when it was just the player and the other girl in a parking lot shootout was the player. Why wouldn't it be the player?

No, the main voice comes from the second guy shown at the beginning of the trailer. You follow the perspective of the person who doesn't talk. Also, why are we talking about something this trivial in the first place.

Because that's all we have to talk about. Besides, it would be really cool if it was the AI talking.

Until "i lost my turret" becomes the new "arrow to the knee" after hearing 3000 times, only one of those was well timed and its in the tutorial/trailer.
