I've been pondering a basic rule of thumb with statting people that I was gonna try in my (long off but eventual) FEF game if you wanna hear.

I'm all ears. Next map is gonna be a bit experimental in terms of enemy stats though everybody. You've been warned.

Pfft, I'm harder to offend than that. That said, as far as I'm concerned, this game is rated T for Teen, so let's keep things around that level.

Well one of the things I considered saying was to quote Jayne Cobb and say 'I could stand a little more' but I don't know if even that's acceptable. :P

So if yinz could kill the loldier so Ceil can reach me, it'd be greatly appreciated. :3

I suppose that Ursa probs wants to go kill the longbow dude, but Lucas can kill the loldier, right? :3

Is he really a loldier? He hasn't managed to kill anybody yet.

Edit: Realized I didn't actually deal poison damage to Enoch at the beginning of the phase. Fixed it.

Oh man I hope Tyrn doesn't get screwed by the weapon triangle. I was really hoping for a crit-kill, but I guess that's being greedy since I did get two evades. :P

I just wanted you to get killer axed in the face. Is that so much to ask?

Apparently the dice think so. No offense but I'm not gonna argue with them. :P

Okay, the good news is that I've got the map for the next chapter all set up. Also the stats for the boss.

Bad news, I'm working the rest of the weekend, and will likely be too tired afterwards to grind together a bunch of bad guys for you all to beat to death. Plus I've got to stat up some generic allies and a pair of named NPCs.

In other good news, shopping is going to be a thing, so sell off all those irritating, high hit training weapons, and buy some steel garbage. Please. you'll be able to make what purchases the group deems necessary. Also, plenty of time to jaw at each other, maybe get some support ranks, who knows.

if you're willing to deal with my failing statting again, I have a totally non-busy weekend for the first time in months.

If you'd like. I'd like you to run a few battles, match up some of the player units against units they'd be strong against, or weak against, then tweak until the enemy strength seems reasonable. I'll pm you the deets on the map tomorrow.

Hmm. Well, at least you're getting some hours in. Hopefully you won't get too worn down, but prioritize your well-being over the next battle. We can entertain ourselves while we wait for your return. ^^^

[Sorry for the long wait, banged my head against a wall trying to get something to work on my computer. Failed. But ah well.]

Basic is that you stat 'em like you would a regular character (their progression being three hundred however) and then take the average amount of stats they would get during ten levels and then spread that evenly out during said ten levels (favoring the top if it happens to be unevenly arranged).

So take a mercenary mook with this progression arrangement:
HP: 60%STR: 40%MAG: 00%SKL: 60%DEF: 40%RES: 20%LCK: 30%SPD: 50%

With the above you can tell that every ten levels they get six HP, four STR, zero MAG, six SKL, four DEF, two RES, three LCK, and five SPD. So as a rough rule of thumb, a ten percent progression means three total gains at level thirty, twenty percent is six, thirty is nine, so on and so forth. I don't suggest dealing with 5%s just to keep things simple.

Below is the rough guideline I used. Its not exact but its exact enough for this nature.

Now, with the above, we can stat this generic merc mook at any level. Why not ten? Fourteen? Four?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You can tool things around by increasing progressions, and I'd generally suggest making the enemies a few levels ahead of the average. I also haven't added the initial four bonus stats at character creation because I take that as a player only thing.

Hey Xan that's what I use to calculate the expected stats my chars would have with some growth stats so I can adjust them.
And yus finally I get Lucas to stand more than five minutes.
