Ok. I just... sometimes I get paranoid about how I end up coming across over the internet cause I very rarely mean to sound rude or impatient or what have you. And so yeah. Glad everything was chill.

I know what you mean! Subtext and whatnot is hard to convey through text. It pays to check every now and again.

Yeah, I agree. That's why I tend to go hard on the emoticons - that and overcompensation for lack of expressiveness in face and voice in real life. I generally don't use them when I'm being completely serious.

Heh, it's always nice to hear that I'm not the only one with this sort of problem. There are times when I'll panic about something I wrote and edit it like three times before I decide that it has the proper tone. And sometimes I'll still worry about it after.

I admit I worry as to how I come across on the net often, there's little way to check beyond flat out asking. Thing is, I've had an aversion to emoticons bashed into me so I prefer not to use them, but they're handy conveying how one should take the post.

Yeah, I tend to worry about overusing emoticons to the point of it feeling like I'm mocking people or assuming they're too dumb to get my tone without them. So I tend to use them less often than more often though I might try to change that? We'll see, I dunno.
