O_o;
Well, when I say "future" I mean "at least a month in the future, depending on how much time I have to prepare it".
But basically, I'm taking inspiration from more grimdark fantasy settings like Dragon Age and Warhammer. Magic has a corrupting effect on people, and thus only those of strong will and special training are allowed to use it. Dark magic has an especially powerful effect and is officially banned. In order to make sure that unauthorized magic users aren't running around summoning horrors and lighting villages on fire, there is an Inquisition working with/inside/against the various secular powers, with (theoretically) absolute authority over anyone from the smallest child to the wisest of kings.
The players work for this Inquisition, as mercenaries or full-time warriors or even Inquisitorial Acolytes. They will have to investigate several different cases, choosing which order to do them in and making choices regarding the people involved. They will fight monsters, demons, and undead as well as the powerful, out-of-control magics of rouge mages.
...you can see why all this takes some time to prepare, especially with a more-than-full-time job to do at the same time
Mugshots!
Inquisitor Samuel, the guy the PCs serve at the start of the game.
Inquisitor Clarisa, a colleague of Samuel's. No real plot set up for her yet.
The Grandmaster of the Inquisition. Again, no plot yet. Just wanted a cool old guy in plate armor.
Orgoth, a reoccurring villain. Not sure how much of a threat he should be, but I like the idea of it being "extremely dangerous".
