Well, let's be in-character then. Do you guys think I should hold my ground, or should I go down and attack the archer two spaces below me?

No one else going to offer an opinion? Because I don't think Sirus's was meant seriously. :X

Not really, no. You said to be in-character, so...
._.;
Offering a serious opinion would have to wait until I could get a better look at the map. Or maybe Xan could assist; he's pretty good at that sort of thing, but he might be to busy cursing about missing the swordsman.

Actually too busy smashing my keyboard with a hammer writing code for a project. Missing doesn't bother me much, I know my luck very well so I'm more surprised when it goes in my favor (or just produces the medium, really) than when it makes me miss on a 95% <= hit chance.

I'll take a quick look over though, but if I recall it was ten versus four and you're holding a choke, so any movement towards or away from the enemy must be as a group, otherwise they'll strike the weakest point, puncture, and conquer. As a general rule of thumb, assuming equal sides and competency, that is.

EDIT: Hm... I don't know how BMM runs combat enough to really give an accurate prediction. I can certainly tell you what I'd do in response:
- The axeman below the lancer who got fluxed moves into the nook south and the wounded archer takes his spot, retaliating with his bow.
- The axeman below the now empty spot also vacates his spot so that the other archer can join in the twanging.
- The lancer who wasn't fluxed gets into the archers spot and also attacks Diana, along with the fluxed lancer attacking as well.
- Chances are Diana would be downed by now (haven't done any math so no idea as to damage, hit chances, etc) unless she was lucky, so assuming she was downed the remaining axeman has his pick of either Freya or Wilfort, most likely downing either one of them as well unless they miss.

So I can't really say I recommend the action.

Since we're not taking down the Elite Lancer this turn anyways, I was thinking we could maybe do something like this:

Diana moves down one, attacks the archer. Usra moves, hurls a hatchet at the lancer near you guys. He's at that point in Brann's support range, Diana's support and Merc skill range, and Freya's Charisma range. Which means he gets +5 Hit from support, +5 from Merc, +10 from charisma, and +15 from WTA. Which means an 88 hit chance with the hand axe which will kill the lancer. Freya can then move down one and use a vuln. You guys can then continue to choke that point.

@Sirus: Oh you. :P

@Xan: So I should stay still then? I'm kinda worried that that archer will start taking potshots at me and since there's nothing between him and me but air, another guy could run in and attack too.

@Ninja Swordstar: That sounds good.

I do like Swordstar's plan. That would also allow Ciel to move down and heal Otiros.

Exactly. That's the part I forgot to mention, lol. Jago could also try shooting the Elite Lancer, but I didn't actually look to see how that ends, hang on.

Edit: Uhhh ok, assuming that the dude has a killer lance equipped, Jago's facing 30% crit and lots of damage twice. Basicallllllly, Jago shouldn't attack the dude, he should just sit there for now.

... Actually Jago's essentially dead if the lancer decides to attack him. He could also attack Ciel with the jav though. But that's also not instadeath. Sooooo yeah. Basically Jago should sit very, very still.

Also, slight miscalculation on your part. Ursa would only get +2 Hit from supports, since they don't stack. On the bright side, +10 crit either way.

Gave a rough edit above before all the new stuff. Taking out the lancer will most certainly help, but I fear a swordsman would just take his place and the plan may continue on, unless that happens to be the changer.

But there's always the ever present 'I plan for the enemies being much smarter than they actually are and worry over nothing' clause in effect, so take what I say with a hefty grain of salt.

I suggest caution, no matter the plan. Now back to it, I gotta get this done.

*shrug* @ Sirius. Either way, 85 hit isn't bad. and you kill cause 21+2-10=13

As for caution, it's true that we need to be cautious, but we also need to not let them run all over us, which is the risk if we don't continue to press forward.
