I'm curious as to why Lucas thinks this is so urgent. I mean, it's not likely that Diana is going to challenge the Empress to a duel any time soon, especially since she doesn't know how to use bows. So why is he acting like this is something that must be shared RIGHT NOW? Just bugs me.

Ansel knows how to play dirty I guess. The point is that the challenge is one on one. Who knows what he could have up his sleeve.
And if he plans to use all divine weapons then he must know how to use bows too.

But my point is that the Empress could simply say "lolnope" and refuse to meet. Or play dirty as well, stationing snipers or somesuch.

I think Blade implied that if she doesn't accept then she can't defend the throne by herself thus she's bound by law to accept.
It's just that this opens a lot of chancea for plot shenanigans.
