I mean heck just imagine a game where your a villain but ultimately what KIND of villain you are is ultimately up to you.

Crusader Kings 2? :V

Ehhh... If it had actual characters and not random AI crapshoots... maybe

I mean how much of a villain ARE you... when EVERYONE is equally willing to murder, rape, and pillage EVERYONE else?

How much of a paragon of virtue are you when every other ruler [what you said]? A massive one, right?

In one game I had a bunch of English dukes and counts I wanted to replace (I wanted to replace them with Irish because they didn't like me!). Since they didn't like me, they were prone to deciding to plot against me or other Irish rulers they didn't like, at which point I raised their troops, arrested them for plotting against me (they wouldn't revolt because there were armies on their province(s)), and then revoked their titles (they're traitors so nobody complained!)...

... I pretty much stopped playing CKII when Charlemagne was released and the patch ruined that game.

Nope because secretly you always want to murder, rape, and divorce everyone. You just don't do it because it isn't convenient for you.

And even then... How are you virtuous in a land that has NO morals?

Yeah... Lets just say Crusader Kings 2 is a great game... But definitely not for simulating people.

The F****** Basic ESRB Rating system, That is all I shall say for this

It's becoming a it dated.

I will defend it only in that it is by far the best "rating board" ever created.

They even have to outright justify their ratings and are by large and afar fair... Even to the point where they don't consider "Homosexual themes" to increase the rating of the film like the film board does.

I would rather everyone else copy them... then for it to go away.

Or rather...

ESRB needs to be patched. The Film board needs to be demolished and rebuilt.

I get the demolished part, but Why rebuilt?

So you can at least know a bit about what you are getting into when you are heading into a movie.

The lack of a cooperative RTS. I want to strategize in real time with everyone to win the game the most.

There is Shattered Galaxy, it's pretty dated but still had a community last I checked a few months ago.  It's a three-faction dealy kinda like Planetside but you build up an army (infantry/armor/air/bio-aliens), and pick squads from it to bring into battle.  Contested sectors are won by capturing and holding points of control...  Yeah it's a lot like Planetside2.

The units can be customized quite a bit, even the starter chassis.  The more advanced/specialized units are unlocked by gaining levels in that unit type (of the four).  Lots of ways to support the team, like equipping units with healing and repair tools.  Or bringing in repair/resupply vehicles which unfold to deploy.  Units have to fetch fuel from geysers, or support units, or use solar cells...  Was pretty fun.

Really sleepy, hope that was coherent.

Nope because secretly you always want to murder, rape, and divorce everyone.

My natural state is to avoid doing that stuff, and to order people to stop scheming and arrest people who I catch starting plots against anyone important, to arrange alliances, and then accept requests to come to my ally's aid against massively larger enemies even though I couldn't possibly beat them (because honor), etc. What I described before was when I was trying to play the game differently because people keep saying that I was doing it wrong and so I wanted to see what it was like to play it their way (I unified 90% of England and half of France, starting with a single irish county, and then it all fell apart in succession).

Edit: I thought all RTSes were cooperative.

Yes Shadowlord but it is what your character wants to do.

You play more the strings tugging at his belt.

Ok here is one more on the pet peave side then me ravingly mad

Security in games where the purpose of security is sort of Vague

Ok there are only two games I am thinking of when I think about this and it is Rollercoaster Tycoon and Mall Tycoon. In both those games you hire security guards and can build security Cameras.

Yet, other then occasionally noticing benches were broken in your less used walkways (and WHY isn't there an option to just replace them? DAMN YOU KIDS!) it is so autonomous that I never even see it... and in a game where the whole point is that this is kind of like a cool ant farm... That hurts my experience just a little bit.

Mall Tycoon

Oh hey, I remember that game.  Could never figure out how to stop the zombies that just kept showing up and ruining everything...at least I think they were zombies...

Red Alert 3 kind of had this.

AI war is a good example of a coop RTS.  In fact, that's the only way to play multiplayer

I never figured out how to play AI war properly, but I never got anywhere in it, probably because I get so upset by my ships seeming to be INCREDIBLY DUMB when I try to play it:

I order ships to attack enemy ships which are moving towards my base. They fly into range and then stop. The enemy ships fly right past mine and mine just sit there and don't bother following them or continuing to attack.

I order long-ranged ships to attack short-ranged enemy ships. They fly into range and then instead of backing away while continuing to fire, they just sit still while the enemy ships fly up to them and kill them.

I order a fleet to jump through a jump point. It arrives on top of some guard bases or something, and decides it should sit still and neither shoot at them nor run away. The fleet dies before I can do anything about it.

 (╯° °)╯︵ ┻━┻

(I found The Last Federation much more fun - the combat is actually fun instead of aggravating)

Oh and come to think of it, Age of Empires 1 (and 2?) allowed two players to control the same empire by choosing the same color.  Pretty wacky.

Hmm... well there's an auto-kite setting which might have helped your units keep out of range(I don't know why it's not set by default...), and there's an attack move command that would make your fleet actually try to kill the other ships, typically your ships shouldn't act that stupid.

When did you play it last? That game has gone through a LOT of changes over its lifetime, you might find it more enjoyable now... or not...  I found it fun for a while, but the gameplay does get a bit repetitive...
