When an awesome concept is wasted on a bad medium.

I watched a couple seconds and thought "What are you talking about? This looks great!" Then I looked at the website and saw the heading TAP TO SHOOT ACTION and I thought no... Oh no......

Here is one for Modders

My Mod is the strongest bestest stuff of all!

So you are downloading say, a new sword for your game. This Modded sword looks cool but then you check its stats... It is incredible! one of the best swords in the game. So you must be thinking that this sword must be nearly impossible to obtain... NOPE! it is right in your house.

Honestly one reason I cannot STAND mods the vast majority of the time is that Modders have it in their head that their stuff always must be "The bestest most specialist stuff in the whole game" rather then keeping consistent with the balance of the game. This would be a very minor pet peave if.... ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MODDER DOES THIS! Heck even IF they are humble you better be sure that they will at least make their stuff equal to the most powerful equipment in the game.

No really. I have so rarely seen mods be consistant with the game, I am excluding mods meant to alter the balance, that I'd say that this is dang thing I can say as a blanket.

They're typically because:

1. The Author knows jack shit.
2. The Author wants to keep mod with as many compatibility features as one can nudge so the mod doesn't take too much fun out of your fun.
3. The Author is merely a designer for weapons and still learning how to non-intrusively incorporate weapons (see point 1).

I typically don't have problems with those since I consciously chose said weapon on my own volition, and I typically save most mods that alter a lot of places for total conversions and/or large scale additions.

It's like calling an on-rail space shooter a "space sim." Or quicktime events "interactive cutscenes."

I don't bother to download those mods. You know you don't have to, right?

Good luck downloading mods at all if that is your attitude :P

You know that those mods usually tell you where the weapons are found and that makes them super easy to avoid, right?

I never thought I'd say this, but on principle I think Neonivek actually has a point here. Regular mods which only intend to expand your gameplay experience shouldn't undermine the already existing content. High-powered weaponry that spawns in your house (or whatever similar example) subtracts from the value of existing weaponry.

I know that a lot of the time modders just want to have something to extend the endgame or to not interrupt the meat of the game, so they make something absurdly hard to get and powerful (you know, those Minecraft mods that take 9 diamond blocks to make something). If they're easy to obtain my guess is that they're meant to either be "cheat" weapons (for the terminally impatient) or the person who made it does not know how2balance.

I think the line of thought most modders have going on in their head is they want their mod to be worth the effort it took to install it or be worth using.

To if the mod had a tomato cannon and it wasn't really a great weapon, because it is a tomato cannon, the modder probably would think it is wasting the player's time especially one who already beat the game.

So he makes that Tomato cannon really powerful.

Or, if we're talking stuff like Skyrim (are we?), moders think that everyone beat the game twenty times over and just add easily avaiable powerful weapons because they (and by extent, everyone else must) have already best stuff in the game, so for them it's basically a fancy item and they don't care much about the stats, as long as it's not worse than other stuff.

I don't quite think you understand my peeve.

Oh, right, you're complaining about their existence. My bad. Honestly though, I am actually unsure. Are you annoyed that they make them too easy to acquire? Too strong overall? Too boring to acquire? (There's a difference between easy and boring.)

If I'm getting this right, you're upset that some modders make cool-looking and overpowered stuff and the very existence of those mods annoys you.

So you hate the idea that modders consider that the stuff they make has to be "special" in some way and they try to achieve that by making them overpowered?

Honestly, you are not being very clear about what annoys you with these things.
