But Neo, you are controlling the characters. If they're incompetent then, well...

I can only pull the trigger, they still have to know how to hold the dang gun.

The future of ArmA military FPS: Oculus Rift (or other VR rig) support. Options let you pick a primary hand for your weapon. Primary hand never leaves the handle of the gun. Offhand is used to change the fire setting, reload, adjust the sights, etc., and to hold the forward grip on the weapon to fire without recoil making it fly all over the screen. Game tutorial features actual pages out of military field manuals for the weapons.

Holy cow you mean weapons aren't designed to fly all over the place? :P

I've never been a fan of the way Counterstrike does its aim degradation due to recoil.

The fact that Counter Strike doesn't allow me to "aim up" (except in sniper rifles, but eh) is seriously throwing me off the rails. I constantly catch myself trying to do that.
Also concerning the CS guns, I think some of them do have burst mode (at least in CS:GO), I am pretty sure the Glock or whatever is the T starting pistol has one. I don't however know if the the option to change the fire mode is even mapped without going into options, which pretty much pictures how often it's used. IIRC, it's actually never used because it's shit and you shoot faster by spamming the LMB anyway.

Gaming pet peve's, which probably carry over to all sorts of mutliplayer/person scenarios: Bad sportsmen.  I really don't care how terribly the game went for you, it's just common courtesy to say good game at the end of a game unless someone's like... hacking or something.  It's like the hand shake at the end of a sports match, no one really gives a fuck if one of the teams played absolute trash, it's something that people do to be nice to others.  All that getting mad at people does at the end of the game, is upset people or ruin the game for them, it won't make you a better person/player.

Ehhh I don't say GG unless I have a good game or it was a good game. I don't like dishonesty for dishonesty sake just because someone's feelings might be hurt. I don't tell people that their farts smell like strawberries just because they accidentally let one loose at a party.

Otherwise "Good Game" means nothing, absolutely nothing. Good Game doesn't mean anything, people say it whether the game was good or not. So it is just acknowledging that a game happened. So you might as well end games with "Yep, a game happened". Usually if that game was particularly HORRIBLE and I want to be polite I just thank the people for playing or hosting.

Me saying Bad Game... was too far >_> I was trying to get kicked at the time mind you so I wouldn't have to play it anymore... which I am ASTONISHED I wasn't. Then again I was playing on a super casual mode.

Yeah I really wasn't having a good time in CS-Go...

And soon my torture will continue with DOTA 2 >_< time for me to research builds... not that it will matter because I've played enough matches to know how it will go. I'll be killed a lot by the team's snowball.

In fact

GG For no raisen!!!

Dear goodness... You guys would cheer on a dying puppy wouldn't you? Look there is being polite and then there is saying a word so much that it becomes noise absent of meaning.

Snowball characters in MOBAS

Honestly nothing is less fun then playing against those. Anyone who says they are fun are usually the ones who use them, not the player who has to beat them.

It just flat out kills the game. "Ohh so you mean that one person is as good as our entire team?" and it would be one thing if it was particularly hard to achieve but no... MOBAs are based around this being an outright fact, if a character snowballs they are going to snowball.

In fact I have to say that a lot of the complaints about Heroes of the Storm is because people want to be rewarded for kills by becoming outright unstoppable... they don't like that people remain "relevant" from the start of the game to the end of the game... they don't like that pure supports can actually do damage instead of just supporting.

In otherwords every single thing I HATE about typical MOBAs is better in Heroes of the Storm... I can handle the occasional terrible player who sinks the game... I can't handle just how MOBAs are played.

Healing Potions in MOBAs

Ohh yay! a game with VERY finite resources do you introduce an EXTREMELY limited resource and make it absolutely essential to play competently.

Denying Creeps in MOBAs

Ohh you are killing your own people... shooting them in the back of the head... for no reason other then to deprive the enemy of it?

Genius make this a mechanic now! Why didn't we do this in WW2? Just kill our own troops...

Secret Shops in MOBAs

Ohh yay... so a place you have to walk to in the midst of the enemy territory, perfect for the SEVERAL characters who are based off of killing people who go to the shop (Because of COURSE a MOBA would have characters based off of killing people who need to use that shop...) and then you have to actually make items.

Pointless useless attribute differentiation

So if your just going to essentially remake every item for every stat and make all the best items "universal"... Then why not make them universal?

Christ Neo, what swam up your Urethra and repurposed it as its home? Good Game is just an acknowledgement that the game went as you would want a game to go. That is to say, people played as well as they could and nobody was cheating or using cheap exploits or whatever.

I believe I would be the thing nettling him so hard.

Though yes, you got what I meant by good game Graknorke.  As long as no one cheats/dc's repeatedly/griefs their own team/ect than it's a good game.  Who cares if you win, lose, or suck terribly at it.  GG is an acknowledgement that everyone on both teams did their best.

When a Good Game is simply people not fucking up the entire game for everyone else on purpose the state of multiplayer gaming can be understood to be shit.
"Good" can mean a bunch of things that are barely tangentially related but Neo is pissy that people are using it to mean "acceptable" rather than "awesome/exceptional". Understandable that he'd want the thing that is understood by most everyone and is fast to type (and so can be done in game without ruining your game) to be a compliment rather than the status quo.

Me saying Bad Game... was too far >_> I was trying to get kicked at the time mind you so I wouldn't have to play it anymore... which I am ASTONISHED I wasn't.

So you were actively trying to irritate other people because you just CBA to close the game on your own. Then you go right to another game you hate and play it anyway? Well, that's nice.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Ha, you guys...
"Good game" is something some of us learned in actual meatspace sports.  We were taught to say it after every game.  In many competitive sports you even shake the other team's hands, in two lines.  It's a bit of politeness meant to remind people that it's a game, and it's for fun.

If the other team is unsportsmanlike then it's understandable to withhold "gg", but you can say it anyway to snidely take the etiquette high ground.

It doesn't match the literal or original meaning, no, but it's also not a meaningless statement :P

On the contrary, I've been a fan of CS recoil mechanic since I've learned how to put two-shot-burst with AK in the head. Though that was AGES ago and I've heard that CS: Source and the later versions have radically changed the way recoil works...

Here is one for Modders

My Mod is the strongest bestest stuff of all!

So you are downloading say, a new sword for your game. This Modded sword looks cool but then you check its stats... It is incredible! one of the best swords in the game. So you must be thinking that this sword must be nearly impossible to obtain... NOPE! it is right in your house.

Honestly one reason I cannot STAND mods the vast majority of the time is that Modders have it in their head that their stuff always must be "The bestest most specialist stuff in the whole game" rather then keeping consistent with the balance of the game. This would be a very minor pet peave if.... ALMOST EVERY SINGLE MODDER DOES THIS! Heck even IF they are humble you better be sure that they will at least make their stuff equal to the most powerful equipment in the game.

No really. I have so rarely seen mods be consistant with the game, I am excluding mods meant to alter the balance, that I'd say that this is dang thing I can say as a blanket.

I don't bother to download those mods. You know you don't have to, right?
