Maria regained consciousness slowly and groggily.

She shake her head "Not painful, more like a sudden emptiness."

"Intriguing. What triggered this process?"

"We kept getting on each other nerves, I was too goody two shoes and she was, well you saw her yesterday or on the news. And then one day we fought in the mind, trying to kill the other simply because it got that bad. Now, I just miss her."

"...Hm. Sounds like conditions that would be hard to replicate...oh, look, Maria is awake again!"
Angel went across the room to Maria.
"How are you?"

Matt gave Maria a look of concern, but relief she was atleast awake now.

Maria looked strangely at Ash. She had seen those features on the conqueror before, but that wasn't important. What was important is that she had seen her before, elsewhere.

And this other self of hers was involved in a situation not unlike theirs. Broadsided, in a war that threatened to destroy the world.

"Do you still have a headache Maria?" (Oh, and Conny is only 6 inches tall so carrying a big bottle full of pills would be a workout for her.)

Maria looked from Ash to Kyle.

It seemed that both of them were in this 'other world'. And involved in events, just like right now.

'That fairy!' Matt slitted his eyes when he saw Conny. 'If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here all silent and ashamed, cos no one would know Gintama is my other form! Why did she have to go and do that!? Was it in vengeance to me spotting her?' Matt internally fumed for a bit whilst trying to keep up with what was going on.
