Matt blushed, wondering over what Maria assumes of him. It was such that he finally loosened off a bit, before internally shutting down any questions on the matter. Though it wasn't a surety yet, Matt had defeated himself with believing Selina and Maria were already an item.
He managed to bring himself back to the present and to Anima.

Unfortunately, anything he wanted to say on the matter was put aside as the conversation returned to the immediate threat.
''Ch-chyeah well. Humans are rarely portrayed as strong. But ou-our spirit and determination, our stubbornness and will to continue on and solidarity i-is always considered our strength, our deciding factor. W-with magical people involved, we're stronger than we seem. Defensively anyway.'' Matt decided to boost morale a little.

<War...> It just suddenly hit Matt, war was coming. That dreadful thing where innocents die in their thousands/millions with no way to stop it. Enemy included.
That Tabella girl, for instance. How do you save people you are fighting against whilst also saving those you are protecting?
Matt's mind wracked through that question for a second, before realising that even if he was a literal genius, there was no way he'd be able to come up with something right there and then.

To everyone else, he merely looked more pensive and sober.

Sir Strafe, is Legion armed and flight worthy?"

"We don't have much information, and those leaders have to get information from someone higher up. Having too many leaders doesn't work well. It can't be done, not without miscommunication and competitiveness between allies."
