If you've got the masons for a megaproject, then you've got the dwarf-power to chop those trees.  Particularly as chopping doesn't interfere with masonry.  Especially if you aren't collecting the wood, a skilled woodcutter will motor from tree to tree at a good pace.  Macros for mass designations are a good idea, but you also shouldn't need to do an entire 10x10 embark at once.  Also, with that many trees, your workers will get high skills and go even faster, and get all those attribute bonuses that builders/haulers often lack.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

DFHack has command "getplants - cut down all the specified trees or gather allt he specified shrubs". I haven't tested it by myself, but isn't that just what you're looking for? Also "immolate trees" will burn the trees. And everything else, but's that's just beutiful. More dwarvy way would really be ~10+ woodcutters and lots of masons paving/flooring whole map whit military escort. Also, real mass-cutting will probably get you war with elves (if you aren't already), unlike some cheap DFHacking.

Unfortunately, "getplants" only designates. It doesn't just cut all the trees and drop logs, or gather all the bushes, or whatever. It's a selective filter for easy marking of "chop wood" and "gather plants". Like if you wanted to only gather the wild strawberries and only cut down the featherwood trees, without having to bother with the K menu inspecting every tree before marking it or not.
