[Plugin]Dwarven Deities V.4
« on: June 07, 2013, 09:25:38 am »

After reading through Deon's Genesis mod, somebody noticed that a creature their dwarves started to worship migrated to their fort. So I decided to write up a creature, and if you add the creature and are insanely lucky you may get a super-awesomeness powered god arrive at your fort!
So far I only have one, but if there is some demand I may write more.

- The ancient construct.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Cyborg (I'm allowed go over the top! Just try and stop me! >:( )
Not too bothered to describe this guy. I tested him against almost everything int he arena, the only thing he gets beaten by consecutively is Meph's mountain King. So Yeah... If one shows up use a mountain king. Candy bounces off this guy.

Changelog
Code: [Select]
V.2
- Ancient construct now has a graphic file, so the graphic works.
- Few tiny bugfixes within the Ancient construct. One question; are frequency and numbers important for a megabeast? I doubt it, but correct me if I'm wrong.
V.3
-Included the new graphic, even though there's no creature for it yet.
-Ancient Construct has a new battlecry file along with a few new natural attacks.
-Ancient Construct has a 32x32 image too now!
V.4
-Fixes and duplications in the construct file
-Added a futuristic cyborg. Unbelievably overpowered... So don't mess with him Best to insta-kill him with a cave in or use a mountain king.

Download(deities)
Download(aboleth! - new!)

Enjoy ;D

This could be potentially interesting. Perhaps the creatures only come if enough dwarves adore them?
Also, it shouldnt be the creature itself, but rather an avatar/servant.

Having a deity avatar in your fortress would increase migrants.

Having a deity avatar in your fortress would increase migrants.
Also as a deity they often replace your monarch, so you need literally your entire civilization to adore them and an extremely wealthy fortress for them to arrive!
It doesn't work that way with DF modding. it's a deity or nothing :)
Currently it's just a megabeast (that doesn't attack) that is capable of being worshipped as a deity. It is not possible to create a creature that exists only as a deity that sends out minions or avatars

I would personally make the graphic bigger. You can make it any arbitrary square size regardless of the size of the tileset. Make it seem a bit more godlike by being... well, different.

Won't it just look odd? Now that you mention it I've a 32x32 version of him too. But... Isn't that too big? I mean he'd just look plain weird... I'll upload both so you get a choice. This is more for mephs attention than anything else.
I've also started work on a second creature now too ;D I'll upload my sprite of it later.
Off topic, I also have a masterwork version that has fixed creature sizes to comply with the newly discovered bug. EVERY creature has been resized. Should I upload it?

This is the point! Divinity is odd.

It'll just be a higher-res tile of the same size.

Here's a 64x64 thing I did for Fortbent; it's awfully abstract, but it's an example:

(before you even think about mentioning my non-existent drawing skills, I copied these from the wiki then cropped and resized)

The sprites looks awesome!

Suggestions: octopus-headed man, green giant Hulk, dark matter in a stylish hat, rhinoceros beetle with claws.
