I'm not sure what you mean by quantifying it, and I admit that I could be missing something here, but I believe that if a mission is a failure, it is because it was sabotaged by one or more of the team. The spies on that team do not have to sabotage, however, so a team with a success could still have one or more spies. However, if we send out the same team again, and there are spies on it, sabotaging it would be identical to sabotaging the first mission, but we would have gotten a free success. However, if they again let the mission succeed, they are giving us more of an advantage while trying to make themselves less suspicious. If there are no spies on the team, we will have gotten another success. Therefore, if we send the same team out again today, it will either succeed, which is beneficial to the rebels, or it will fail and we will have the success of the first mission while the scum would have undone the trust advantage of that same first mission, meaning we would still be in a better place.

My thinking exactly. I just met you and this is crazy but I like your thinking so you are awesome~

...well that escalated quickly. What I want to say is this summarizes my thoughts and I don't really see a flaw to selecting the team this way. NQT, what do you think of this?

Dariush to me is a bit too much of a risk factor due to the questionable method of random picking, but if everyone would prefer him to Remuthra I'll put him forward.  We've actually got a serious advantage over the spies in this game: unlike last time where the spies were able to confer beforehand, the spies in this game have no way of communicating to each other. They essentially have no way of ensuring that only one of them fails the mission (if I recall correctly, the spies in the last game agreed for the alphabetically first spy to fail each mission when they doubled up) and we can use this to our advantage if, and this is likely, the spies in future missions panic and double or triple vote.

I don't think that's how it was but it's not really important. The spies are a bit more balanced in this game though I think they might be a little over-balanced [is that a thing?]

ANYWAY my point is this: If you put Dariush along with the team from last time I'll be in favor of it.

I'm in favor of it. As said before.

Remuthra, why would you prefer yourself NOT to be on the team?

I only prefer myself to not be on the team because I feel there is more chance of success if we take this opportunity to use the original team again. In addition, if I was on the new team and one or more of the other members were scum, they could fail the mission and pin it on me. You could argue that staying off the team gains passive trust, but that's WIFOM. Overall, I would be glad to join a team, but I feel that it would be better for town in general to not be on this one.

You know, I would prefer to stay off the team. Too many people have unanonimously agreed to put me on instead of Remuthra (three people, Cado is absent and I am obviously not there). This leads me to believe that a spy has lied low on the first mission and will sabotage the second, thus implicating me. I realize that the same logic may apply to whoever goes in my place, but... hell, I don't want it to be me. The end.

Damn, you make a point about the unanimousness-- ultimately, we gain information about the trustworthiness of Dariush even if he's not on the team, so I'm going to go with my original suggestion-- if the team fails lets try to guard against WIFOM by keeping in mind that there's an even chance of a spy laying low as Remuthra being a spy.

I don't think it's an even chance, but whatever. At least you're displaying signs of intelligence. Upvoting.

I disagree but I'll upvote. I still honestly think dariush's inclusion would be better but pup is next lead so we may be able to replicate a successful team next mission.

Well I'd still prefer Dariush but it's not such a huge issue to me that I'll raise any hell about it. I'll upvote in a moment.

Alright then, the voting stage has begun!

I want to have all the votes collected by Wednesday night. That is when I'll lock the thread and declare the results.
