low on time: short answer as a result.

I was going in paranoid circles that kept cycling back and forth. it really could have ended either way.

why myself? because all i have to do is get it right, and i know i'm town. self-confirmation makes that decision easy. results > perceptions

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

That would be the same answer anyone would give as scum :/

"Because I know I'm town." Which is one of the core facets scum would like to inculcate in their dayplay.

And you had lotsa other picks.

results > perceptions
But this I'd agree upon.

Tiruin:  Sorry for always spelling your name wrong.  Does it really bug you that much?
Yes. Yes it does.

Because I'm taking you intentionally doing that, along with not believing in what I say about myself personally (like..pronouns. Despite being told about it. Before. More than twice.) as something going along the lines of This. Again.  :-\
Well...  I'm not actually intentionally doing it, so there.

Griffinpup: I mean intentionally switching the 'i' and the 'u' in Dariush's name and emboldening the fact that you are doing so.

Also, a heads up: I'm leaving tomorrow and I won't be back until sometime Saturday. I won't have internet access.

Umm... If this team doesn't pass, the mission automatically fails.  Better to have some chance then no chance without the possibility of learning anything new.  Why'd you ask that question?  I'd think that it would be self-evident.
Problem is, scum have absolutely no reason to vote down as it would paint them scum.

Griffionday:
No to Griffpup, I'd say replace with Daruish.  If you still don't want to, I'd up vote it to give us a fighting chance.
Why Dariush instead of yourself?
Because that gives everyone more information on my reads than if I'd voted myself.  I probably should have asked to replace both griffinpup and Nerjin with myself and Daruish, but I was thinking that she might be more likly to make a small change than a large one.

TWS:
To prove a point.  Dariush freaks out when you spell his name wrong, and has actually accused me of being scum for doing it.  It's not scummy, and I'm not going to be cowed just because he's raging at me.

Griffday:
Completely agreed.  It's paramount to claiming scum.

So really it's not a scum tell, just a really dumb player tell.  You seem to keep forgetting that scum have to not act like scum...

What's the motivation for town to downvote this mission again?

I suppose I could see them doing it on principle. Sort've a "Absolutely not. This is going to fail. Just watch." sorta thing... Though I doubt it. Like has been said: 100% Failure Rate < 99% Failure Rate

How?

Obviously Going to fail [Team doesn't pass] is not as good as a probably going to fail [This particular team does pass.]

I still don't trust Lenglon. Probably never will in this game. BUT she's our only hope. If this mission passes she's probably town but if it fails that'll just cement my opinion of her considering:

1. She stated that her presence was negotiable.
2. Most people I recall seeing said they'd prefer someone else.
3. She kept herself on the team.
4. Remuthra's behavior. I hate to keep harping on it but it REALLY set up a ton of warning flags.
5. Her Power madness early on.

GriffDay: You're the next leader. Who are you thinking about taking with you if this mission succeeds? What if it fails? Can you give a one sentence reason as for why?

"We don't have much of a choice, do we?" TheWetSheep asked.

"No. No we don't." Lenglon replied. After three days of deliberation, all energies were spent. A team had to be decided tonight.

Dariush grunted. "We shouldn't even have bothered to vote. No matter what we do, we'll have to play along with whatever she decides anyways." He tilts his head toward Lenglon in casual disdain. "It's not like this punk even understands what it's like to be revolutionary." He mutters.

"Enough. We have to stick to protocol." Tiruin said, interrupting Dariush. "Lenglon, state who you want on the team."

"I'll will be leading the team, and I want Griffpup, Nerjin, and you, Tiruin, to go with me." Lenglon declared.

"Good, I'll pass out the-"

"Screw the ballots. Hand vote. Now." Dariush declared. "Yea or nay. All in favor raise your hands now."

Eight hands shot up into the sky. Tiruin shook her head, then raised her own hand as well.

Nine votes upvotes. Not a single vote against the team. With nothing else left to be said, Lenglon motioned for her allies to join her, and they embarked off into the night…

Re: Revolution II - The Fires of Rebellion: The Dogs of War
« Reply #479 on: July 16, 2013, 10:11:59 pm »

Off the corner of Bleaker and Doldrum, there is a single building situated off on its own off the middle of the street. It stands alone from the rest and for good reason. It is here where the Iron Hand of the Empire resides. The Ministry of the Interior. With a steel carapace and a granite façade, it is an intimidating building.  Criminals of all kinds, both minor and major are seen coming through this building at some point or another. Most don't come out of it ever again.

But tonight inside the walls of the Ministry of the Interior, all was mysteriously quiet. Not a creature dared to stir. There was only one man awake at this hour. The Spymaster.

The Spymaster is considered one of the most powerful roles in the empire. He is the man tasked with keeping tabs on every citizen in the Empire. If he finds a citizen starting to showing the signs of disobedience, it his job to "reeducate them back into society. Whether or not they want to be readmitted back into society or not is not his problem. His business was in destroying the fires of rebellion, a task that he fulfilled with brutal force.

In fact, although he was only just recently hired to the position, the Spymaster had already acquired quite the reputation for ruthlessness. He is a man of many macabre tastes, but midnight raids was his specialty. To catch a rebel while he sleeping, while they dare not suspect it.  To creep upon them in the dead of the night, and whisk them to the place of steel and granite. It was all child's play.

But, his current assignment was a bit more delicious. It is a rare occasion that he should be given the chance to play with his prey. Especially on  a case so near and dear to his heart. He knew their names. Where they lived. Where they slept. Everything. Even that they were basing their operations out of a warehouse on the wharf. In an instant, he could destroy them all. With just a tap.

But that would ruin the fun. No, he would play with them for a little while...

"I wonder how close we are..." Lenglon whispered. They had seemingly been wandering the streets for ages. Griffinpup was at the head of the team, Nerjin giving him directions. She and Tiruin were holding up the rear. The atmosphere was edgier than normal. The weight of last weeks failure was heavy. Tonight was personal. Tonight was revenge. Lenglon was growing impatient. "How much longer do we have walk?"

"Not far." Tiruin replied.

"And how do you know that?" Lenglon snapped back, grabbing Tiruin by the shoulder. Her face was a flush with rage.

Tiruin returned her comrade's question with equal hostility. "They took me here after the March Revolution fell through. They kept in here for weeks before I transfered.  Believe me, I know we are close."

She pulled away sharply, leaving the younger rebel in a state of confusion. Lenglon pulled her hands through her hair, playing with an idle strand.  "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know." She stammered. Words were failing her. " It's just… They took my brother here too… When I was younger."

Tiruin stopped to stare at her sister of the Rebellion. Her eyes were as cold as ice. "Then fight for him. Take a stand, and avenge him."

After a few moments, they arrived at the Ministry of the Interior.

"Lenglon, you still have the device, don't you?"

"Yeah… I've got it."

"When you're ready… Do us the honors of lighting that place up."

Lenglon strode out into the street, a piece of yellow fruit clasped in her hand. This was for her brother. For Tiruin. For the Revolution. Lenglon drew back her arm and poised to throw…

Suddenly, the phone at his desk rang. Within an instant he was on top of it, cradling it in his hand. "Hello? Who is this?"

"Time to release the hounds Mr. Z." The Spymaster smiled wickedly. With a flick of a switch, guard dogs poured forth from the basement of the Ministry of the Interior. Screams came from the street below, as his hounds began to chase his little rabbits through the streets. He could even hear a distant explosion and the faint smell of lemons.

Walking over to the phone, he could hear the rebels panic as they run down the street. His informant forgot to hang up. The Spymaster picked up the receiver and fat cigar. This was going to be a fun night.

Dogs! Lots of barking! Lots of biting! You have been sabotaged!
There was a single sabotage vote this round!

Griffionday is your new leader! The team must be locked in by Friday the 19th at 10PM!

Now, it has been suggested to me that the Rebels require some… Motivation. In your final missions, I suggest that you listen to this song for inspiration.
