I don't think nametags are really needed honestly, faceless units just need a letter and a uniform coloration, while unique units would be actually be colored in. You can tell who's who at a glance very well, me thinks.

Why do all of the enemy thieves have slightly higher stats than Elian?

They're all thief trainees at level 1, as is he, but he has:

16 HP, enemy thieves have 20
4 STR, enemies have 6
5 SKL, enemies have 6
1 RES, enemies have 2...

I'm probably overlooking something because I'm dumb like that, but is this intentional scaling/difficulty increasing, or did I not fill out my sheet properly...?

I have no idea who's Foster or Ralai, but have no problem with the others.

It's not a bad idea, but it could possibly get confusing later on with a shitton of players. I guess we'll see how it plays out.

Foster is at the head of the party while Ralai is the lower right character. As for the enemies, they're slightly stronger so you guys will get more EXP and have a bit of a challenge; Foster is probably going to spend his turns double-turning most of the PCs because I don't think it would be very fun for you guys to sit back while he spams spells with his near limitless HP. :P

@FFS: Yeah, I see, with the transparent colors and stuff on the icons.

@Gamer: I figured it was difficulty scaling myself.

I'd suggest all mages to avoid the living day-lights out of the bandits, they can double hit you from a range. The thieves can still double hit you for similar damage, but you can nail them from a range.

Alright, so, strategery...

We have (Correct me if I'm wrong...):

A Bard (Useful, but not under our pervew, he moves as he wants, so fuck 'im for this.)

A Thief and a Swordsman (Woo, anti-axe dudes)

A Mage (fill in whomever has the biggest load)

A Priest (As with the mage, she goes where she's useful.

and a Rider (Lance, going to be very useful here)

And two general hemispheres where combat will occur, illustrated here.

These will be Left and Right Field, respectively.

Left is predominantly Axemen, Right is predominantly thieves, though Left has a somewhat more mixed group and is slightly more dense.

Because of this, I'd suggest a crew something like this:

HEALER hangs back, somewhere on the border of both, advancing as things are cleared for her (fits with her personality too.)

The rest of us split into two teams:

TEAM HACKANDSLASH will consist of our SWORDSMAN and THIEF, and due to the more varied enemies and such, will also include the MAGE.

TEAM PENETRATION, due to likely only needing to fight one guy at once due to low enemy density, will consist mainly of RIDER and BARD, IF HE CAN BE CONVINCED TO COME. Bard is mostly for convenience however, as he'd just make it go faster with extra turns.

HACKANDSLASH attacks LEFT FIELD, focusing on the axemen to play on their strengths, with the MAGE providing covering fire against the thief that's over there.

Meanwhile, PENETRATION attacks RIGHT FIELD, aggroing one of the thieves there at a time to wipe them out one by one using the Weapon Triangle, along with possible extra turns by the BARD.

As either team begins to take damage, they retreat back to the HEALER between fights to get healed up, or uses a vulnerary if needed.

Should either team finish up before the others, they provide support and surgical strikes for the other ones as able.

Alternately, BARD can stay back with Healer and provide exmoves while the Mage switches parties to PENETRATION in order to abuse ranged attacks.

Sound good?

My only problem is that it would take a while for people to get to the right field. And that the enemies will probably actively seek out opponents instead of stand their twiddling their thumbs. :p

I'd suggest not even accounting for the bard, because who knows what he's going to do. Something very useful, yeah, no doubt, but other wise an random card.

I'm leery of splitting the party up, but that's because of basic instincts and being burned every time it happens. I suggest people staying within six tiles of the healer, else injures might occur.

I'd also suggest the mage possibly helping the right side, because he only needs to be within two squares of a fighter trainee to be two-hit into nothing.

Xan, this is fire emblem.

>_> Enemies ALWAYS sit around twiddling their thumbs until you're just outside their attack radius.

Also, it's basically a pincer attack. Basic tactics.

And yeah, I wasn't aware they had range-attack over there, now I am aware, I agree about the mage.

Also, if it's just me and the mage, I have MOV 6 (unfortunately you can't increase MOV over base, or I would have...) so I can pick their arse up and ride near, then drop them before starting the normal attack run, and be in position to attack... I think round after next, not too terribly long. Especially since the buildings already seem fortified, so there's no need to charge in and try to save them.

ALRIGHT! Plan update :D

For Right Field: I move 5 East this turn, with MAGE hopping up on my horse beforehand, using my class' ability to move after taking an action.

Then, next turn, I drop her to the square EAST of me, and wait unless someone starts advancing on me, due to not being able to drop someone and attack in the same turn.

Next turn, I move three EAST, three NORTH, and attack THIEFF, with MAGE moving to the square behind me and preforming a second attack.

Illustration:

EDIT: Also, should I post the plan in the IC thread too, since Talking Is a Free Action?

I'd very much prefer not to go to left field, as I will get brutally murdered in one shot by those axes.
Right field's good though.

Two shots actually, even at best a mage trainee can only get two AS without personal skills at first level sadly. Know from experience. :v
