I'd like to see good writing. I predict the writing will be garbage like in any Bethesda game after Morrowind.
Also, over-done level-scaling, drawn out HP-drain combat at higher levels, awkward NPCs, and loads of generic filler dungeons.

Aw, I've enjoyed a lot of Bethesda abominations.   :P

To be honest, I was kinda hoping they'd do a proper sci-fi next.  I'd love to see a big open world where that world was a crazy huge space station.

Maybe!  I've never played the first one.

Edit:  [Looks at the wikipedia page].    Um yeah, Prey 2.  :D

You'd think with all the cash they make they could hire a not-terrible writing team for their games.

I would also kill for a proper ruined city. Dc's urban area was segmented in all those little isolated clumps that were entirely separate areas and it was impossible to just move through the city. I can understand some areas being collapsed but the way it was mostly just a hodgepodge of independant areas accessible by underground was. Disappointing. I want to explore a proper ruined city.

Okay,

Things I want to see. (Hey, one can dream right?)
*Turn Based
*Isometric
*Non scaling enemies

I would just suggest getting Wasteland 2 in October for those.

Considering this is from Bethesda, I'm considering an extremely mediocre and simplified game that will be hyped to hell and back. They'll claim that they plan on fixing everything everyone hates when they release a game ("We have a new engine!", "No bugs!", "YOU CAN DO ANYTHING".) After enough hype, it will be released and everyone will love it at first. But after the first few days, the core group of people who play games will realize that they just bought in on the hype, and get bored halfway through. The gaming media will hail it as the RPG of the year, and everyone will treat it like it's the epitome of gaming.

I was desperately holding on to the hope Obsidian could develop it, but now that they're onto bigger and better things there's no chance Bethesda WON'T make it. Bethesda is really bad at writing (Obviously), and this becomes even more evident when their standard Black vs. White storyline doesn't work in the Fallout universe (Cough cough, FO3).

I'd actually like to see the game take place back on the East Coast of the US. It has a far more interesting environment to me. I thought the setting for Vegas was really really boring...but that is only because I don't like Vegas at all (least favorite city I've ever been to) and the area around Vegas is equally as boring. A setting of San Francisco would be cool though, if they choose the West Coast again, and they can have the Golden Gate Bridge...that would be epic to see. I know "a lot" of people want to see Fallout set in other countries as well, but I'll assume they'll go with the U.S again. Fallout has yet to be based anywhere else.
You do realize that San Francisco already featured in Fallout 2, right?
I'm hoping that Bethesda secretly doesn't do any of the writing at all in Fallout 4 and outsources it to obsidian, though I have no problem with it being set in the commonwealth. Chances are it'll be set in boston or new york city and include the other in dlc (a la The Pitt).
I've honestly enjoyed all the Fallout games but New Vegas by far the most, and so long as there's a sequel to New Vegas sometime after Fallout 4 I'll be happy, preferably finally going back and canonizing some Van Buren-ish stuff.

AKA the laziest city design ever.

I have to confess, I've enjoyed post-Morrowind Bethesda games more than I probably should have, but in a very shallow way. They're the Milky Way of games; like Snickers but much more generic and boring.

I usually play Bethesda games in two passes.

First pass, I complete about half the game (excluding the main storyline, because you never play the main storylines in Bethesda games), trivialize the badly balanced mechanics, max out on purchasing ability and gear and quit.

The second pass, I do the same thing, except I dump in a ton of mods and usually play something other than my preferred stealthy type. Whether by chance or by rote, I generally do most of the same things I did before. Then I uninstall it and pretty much never look back.

I swore I wouldn't buy Skyrim at release, but I got sucked in to the hype and the commercials. I enjoyed it pretty well for about 20 hours, enjoying the things Bethesda had improved on (their vistas, somewhat more diverse dungeon designs, better side areas.) But then all the things I didn't enjoy about the game, plus all of Bethesda's classic short comings, really started to eat away at my fun. There's that wall you eventually hit with your character, and the prospect of a couple unique items and the many generic filler quests just isn't enough to keep me playing.

I plan on doing phase 2 of Skyrim, at some point. But between FO:NV and Skyrim, I have about a whole game's worth of Bethesda content I've never played, and I just don't feel like adding to that pile anymore. (To me NV was, despite Obsidian, still thoroughly imprinted by Bethesda's content and design philosophy.)

I feel like I've been playing the same game, over and over and over again, since Oblivion and this time I'm waiting on you people to tell me whether the cycle is going to repeat itself. Because if it is, there's other games I can be playing instead.

This.

The best thing Bethesda could do is let Obsidian do the story while they muck about the technical and visual aspects. Bethesda is rage-post inducing terrible when it comes to writing their game stories.

Things I wanna see ;
Based somewhere in the Midwest, preferably Chicago
An improved Karma System.
Less luck-based winning(If you stuff all your SPECIAL into Luck in NV, you could gamble your way to winning)
Portray the Enclave as they should be and not constantly as the big-bad guys who want to kill everyone...
A far better combat system that isn't broken.
And animal I can ride.
A view of what happened around the world rather than just the US all day

What will actually happen ;
Cookie Cutter storyline in which you have to be the good guy.
Cookie Cutter World, based in the US.
Cookie Cutter enemies, who will be the enclave.
Cookie Cutter combat, which will revolve around spamming VATs and getting mid-range guns.
And a lot of hype.
