Okay, so it is pretty obvious Bethesda is now working on Fallout 4.

Obvious clues:

Skyrim is done. Fallout 3 came shortly after Oblivion, and Fallout is a rather huge title for Bethesda. So, very likely it to be Fallout 4.
Erik Todd Dellums (Three Dog) announced he is returning for a "possible" return to his character. (probably the biggest clue, and could likely mean it is going to be in the East Coast somewhere)

And I think there were a couple/few other clues, but my memory sucks.

So, with that said. I figured I'd be first to start the Fallout 4 discussion before anyone else. :P

The earliest Fallout 4 will be released will be 2014. That is expected really, so no surprise there. This PCgamer talks about the absence from E3: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/06/20/fallout-4-absence-e3-2013

I'd actually like to see the game take place back on the East Coast of the US. It has a far more interesting environment to me. I thought the setting for Vegas was really really boring...but that is only because I don't like Vegas at all (least favorite city I've ever been to) and the area around Vegas is equally as boring. A setting of San Francisco would be cool though, if they choose the West Coast again, and they can have the Golden Gate Bridge...that would be epic to see. I know "a lot" of people want to see Fallout set in other countries as well, but I'll assume they'll go with the U.S again. Fallout has yet to be based anywhere else.

A Reddit user said Bethesda was scoping out the Boston area, which could be the next Fallout 4 setting. However, rumors are rumors:

Here is the link to an IGN news post talking about it: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/20/will-fallout-4-be-set-in-boston-2

I'm actually most curious, no matter what setting they choose (even if its Vegas)...to actually see what they do (or improve) in their "new" Creation engine. The graphics will obviously be far better than in Fallout 3, but I'm mostly curious to see what they actually do with the game. Like in Skyrim, I actually rather liked the crafting system...and hope they do some similar (improved hopefully) system in Fallout 3. I don't recall Fallout 3 had much in the way of crafting, unless you modded it in.

Perk system I imagine will be taken probably straight from Skyrim. I don't see why they'd go back to their old system they used, when (in regards to a perk tree), Skyrim was far more advanced.

And in regards to mods. First mod I'm getting (every Bethesda game has mods), is no fast travel. I hate fast travel in games, I get rid of it as fast as possible. Skyrim was far better though with the wagons, so if Fallout 4 has something similar...I can go with that.

And to end this post. I'm hoping they have more expansions for Fallout 4 than they did Skyrim...maybe its just me...but I thought Oblivion had more (and bigger) expansions than Skyrim did. Yeah, Oblivion had a lot of...well...horse armor...and that house magic tower thing...but I thought Oblivion had more (and bigger) expansions. Am I remembering wrong? Or does anyone else feel the same?

In any case. I'm mostly curious to see the setting they use for Fallout 4. That will probably be the biggest thing Bethesda could announce, at least for me.

IIRC They did announce that they were working on fallout 4 in a skyrim interview before skyrim was even released. and they said that dual wielding is a thing in it aswell.

And yes i do agree the skyrim expanaions were lame. and then they had to go and put solstheim in it which was already done in morrowind.
i really hope they arent lazy like that for F4

but in my opinion the skyrim perk tree was shite. every single perk was practically useless. i much prefered the F3 perk system.
and because of the way fallout levels up by gaining experience instead of honing your skills to level up, the skyrim perk tree wouldnt work.

Based on Skyrim, I'm not looking forward to Bethesda's next installment of "streamlined RPG mechanics."

Honestly I expect FO4 to basically be a re-tread of FO3/FO:NV. I'd love to be wrong but Bethesda loves their format and it has continued to make them vault-fulls of cash. So I doubt much will have changed in a positive way. I'll likely pass until it's on sale, or unless I hear post-release that it's a better RPG than the previous two.

There is the rumor that it's going to be Boston. They were taking pictures of the city all over a while back and they have said they're doing fallout 4 I believe already. Out of their possible projects I don't think any of them really has a reason to be taking all these pics of Boston. On the other hand, lore wise, I believe the NE is supposed to just be this barren wasteland now. However if this is taking place after fallout 3, which I might have seen somewhere, It might have just been long enough for some form of habitations there. Three Dog might also possibly return too, so I'm sure it would stay east coast. They also made the little hint of, 'The rocky wasteland sure was fun,' or something like that in reply to Vegas' environment. That could point to the possibility of the barren NE just as much. This is all massive rumor though, but things do add up a bit.

Love the Eastern Coast, though i hope they move farther inland to the Great Plains, i wanna see the The Great Irradiated Lakes :P

Skyrim itself is a easy fest but its skills system is so much better than Oblivion's ever was, i remember dropping a XP leveling Mod for Oblivion that i was really much better for that game.

Okay,

Things I want to see. (Hey, one can dream right?)
*Turn Based
*Isometric
*Non scaling enemies
*Good Story
*Less butchering of the lore.
*Less stupid "choices". (Megaton was probably one of the most retarded things I have experienced in a game.)

Predictions.
*None of the above.
*Slow motion headsplosions.

Yeah, after oblivion, skyrim and fallout 3 I do not have much faith in bethesda anymore. The one good thing about them that has been true for a long time that I see no reason that it would change is the huge modding support, which basically saved atleast Skyrim and Fallout 3 for me.

The rumor I heard hinted FO4 would be... NCR vs Legion again. They don't really have the talent to do a Fallout story either way, so I'd expect either that or more asinine fantasy about Space Marine GI Joe the "Brotherhood of steel" being altruistic and super-cool-awesome. And more generic buildings connected with darker generic subway tunnels.

Coz if there's anything FO3 needed, it was more subway tunnels.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

I would just suggest getting Wasteland 2 in October for those.

My own prediction:
F4 will take place in Florida. Why? Because Washington, SF and Las Vegas are done, and New York is now a boring setting (too many games took place there).

Ah, did they officially announce Fallout 4? I couldn't find anything about the interview and Fallout 4, with searching a few Google pages. Just that Bethesda was working on an "unannounced" project. I'll have to do more Google searching. Anyone else confirm this or/and have a link? I can add it to the original post.

As for the perk tree, usefulness aside...I didn't think the mechanics were that bad for what it was. But I liked the skill system a lot (as someone said in a post above)...and do kind of hope they do a similar skill system for Fallout 4. Then again, would that fit for a Fallout game? Not like in the end it matters that much to Bethesda, seeing how much they changed Elder Scrolls between Oblivion and Skyrim with the leveling system.

And East Coast does seem likely if Three Dog is back in it. I was going to mention it in the original post, but didn't end up putting it there. Would make sense however, and I did also read where they were taking pictures of the Boston area as mentioned. But, with how true that is...not sure. It was by a Reddit user...here is a link that talks about it (I'll add it to original post as well):
