Okay, so it is pretty obvious Bethesda is now working on Fallout 4.
Obvious clues:
Skyrim is done. Fallout 3 came shortly after Oblivion, and Fallout is a rather huge title for Bethesda. So, very likely it to be Fallout 4.
Erik Todd Dellums (Three Dog) announced he is returning for a "possible" return to his character. (probably the biggest clue, and could likely mean it is going to be in the East Coast somewhere)
And I think there were a couple/few other clues, but my memory sucks.
So, with that said. I figured I'd be first to start the Fallout 4 discussion before anyone else.
The earliest Fallout 4 will be released will be 2014. That is expected really, so no surprise there. This PCgamer talks about the absence from E3:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/06/20/fallout-4-absence-e3-2013I'd actually like to see the game take place back on the East Coast of the US. It has a far more interesting environment to me. I thought the setting for Vegas was really really boring...but that is only because I don't like Vegas at all (least favorite city I've ever been to) and the area around Vegas is equally as boring. A setting of San Francisco would be cool though, if they choose the West Coast again, and they can have the Golden Gate Bridge...that would be epic to see. I know "a lot" of people want to see Fallout set in other countries as well, but I'll assume they'll go with the U.S again. Fallout has yet to be based anywhere else.
A Reddit user said Bethesda was scoping out the Boston area, which could be the next Fallout 4 setting. However, rumors are rumors:
Here is the link to an IGN news post talking about it:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/20/will-fallout-4-be-set-in-boston-2I'm actually most curious, no matter what setting they choose (even if its Vegas)...to actually see what they do (or improve) in their "new" Creation engine. The graphics will obviously be far better than in Fallout 3, but I'm mostly curious to see what they actually do with the game. Like in Skyrim, I actually rather liked the crafting system...and hope they do some similar (improved hopefully) system in Fallout 3. I don't recall Fallout 3 had much in the way of crafting, unless you modded it in.
Perk system I imagine will be taken probably straight from Skyrim. I don't see why they'd go back to their old system they used, when (in regards to a perk tree), Skyrim was far more advanced.
And in regards to mods. First mod I'm getting (every Bethesda game has mods), is no fast travel. I hate fast travel in games, I get rid of it as fast as possible. Skyrim was far better though with the wagons, so if Fallout 4 has something similar...I can go with that.
And to end this post. I'm hoping they have more expansions for Fallout 4 than they did Skyrim...maybe its just me...but I thought Oblivion had more (and bigger) expansions than Skyrim did. Yeah, Oblivion had a lot of...well...horse armor...and that house magic tower thing...but I thought Oblivion had more (and bigger) expansions. Am I remembering wrong? Or does anyone else feel the same?
In any case. I'm mostly curious to see the setting they use for Fallout 4. That will probably be the biggest thing Bethesda could announce, at least for me.
